Almost uniquely, geologically speaking, it's one of the few places where what was oceanic crust appears on the surface... or so read some years ago.

What a shame someone who claims to be Cypriot has absolutely NOTHING to inform about Troodos other than a racing pulse!

Due to family connections I spent long stretches in Troodos, the mountain range, not the actual village. Lemithou, Prodromos, Pedoulas, Potamiou, Kedares are places I know well.
The phrase political heartland is fascinating. But some things are better left unsaid.

Wanted for a long time to visit Stavros Dis (?) Psokas cos it was a bit of a dodgy drive over homothromous, a bit of an adventure, or was led to so believe. Really something had been looking forward to doing on a CY visit one year.
Well imagine my disappointment when recently got the chance to go only to find it's asphactos all the way.
Still, got to see the fabled mouflons in the enclosure there.

When the Mouflons heard GR was coming they went in to hiding, they didn't want to suffer the same fate as the pygmy-hippos!
