Ciao Deniz  any chance to get coordinate?
I found my old cd with several shots collected in '96 while we were mapping the south troodos area ( Kapilio, Agios Mama and Trimiklini villages )
Unfortunately are in a PCD format ( kodak ) and to open it you may require a download of an image viewer ( Infant Viewer )
I will try to post some here. Hope it works good..
See you later

The co-ordinates are at the bottom of the pic.

thanks is better now, I will step into google earth at home
Below some shots taken in troodos area.

The first show a hidden deep canyon escavated in sheeted dikes complex ( hard red rocks ) along a secondary road towards Pano Platres.

Image

This has been taken along another canyon in the Lefkara formation ( calcareous rocks ) it reveal a strong erosional process in the past.

Image

And...this is Daniela along the road to Peraskevi village. If you enlarge the shot you can see 2 big erosional channel in the Pillow Lavas formation filled with thin conglomerate ( to help you check it out the big shape of a W ) coming from high troodos as an alluvional fan.
Image

this instead do not need any explanation..I take this pic the first time I have been in Nicosia. I was shocked, still now if I think about it I have a shiver :?

ciao!

Lovely pics apart from the blot on the landscape. There is worse destruction than that though. On the road of which you now have a pic (from google earth) their is a new development called 'ghost city'. Not funny at all. Its sacrilage to ruin ones country with no limitations.

Below is a pic just beneath the peak of the Pentadaktylos.

Image

Between the two peaks and to the right of Ann you can make out the position of where the Iron oxide vein is. The Med is visible in the background.

Image

I hope Oracle wont mind these pics as I see the Pentadaktylos and the baby of the Troodos range. Still Cyprus.

I had more pics of geological interest, but I had not foreseen that we would encounter a 'resident geologist' on CF.
