We have also the same kind of rocks in Alps Chain but has been tilted and partially distroyed by tectonics movements.
Troodos is an amazing place for us.

So did you find Atlantis or what?

No palìo mou. I see an ocean floor by investigating minerals and all stuff under a microscope.
If you want to find Atlantis you may use another tool.

"The foxes?
Come on niki...are you kidding...
The foxes chase wild rabbits and birds...or maybe you have a special breed of giant foxes tall as a black panters?

I cede specialisation of geology to you, you leave biology and wildlife management to me and we will be OK.

Fox predation on lambs is a scientifically observed phenomenon with many peer reviewed references in the scientific literature.

I gather you are Italian, please read Professor Boitani re the problem and then we can talk about it.

I will follow your adwice
Anyway please I need to apologize 'cause I haven't read your post in deep ( about the lambs )
I meant only that it looks strange to me that foxes chase an animal like muflon.
We have plenty foxes on the Alps and also close to my town ( in the night ) and I knew are shy animals. Or rather behaviour is changed due to food avalaible everywhere.

ciao

Troodos is technically classed as an 'Alpine' climate when concidering altitude, snow fall and temperature.
Incredible how a 40 minute drive can transform Alpine to Meditterranean...

Oh dear..... Gori Daniella .... this is the first sentence in that reference you gave earlier .....

Actualistic Ophiolite Provenance: The Cyprus Case.

The island of Cyprus represents an excellent site to assess quantitatively petrologic clastic response to actively obducting oceanic sources in order to define an actualistic reference for ophiolite provenance, in terms of framework composition and heavy mineral suites. An improved methodology, an extension of the classic ternary QFL logic to include a wider spectrum of key indexes and ratios, provides an accurate synthesis of modal data and allows differentiation of three main petrographic provinces and at least seven subprovinces.

Erm ... Think it must be in Italian, can't understand a word of it. Have you got it in English please.

I thought Troodos was a sleeping volcano waiting to erupt when the Gods get fed up of the corruption, bad driving and football hooliganism. :)

Ciao cumpari
I know.. it's not easy to understand petrology...how can I traslate better..?
The whole article is avalaible on an American journal of geology. The link I gave you is only an abstract. To understand it you may know geological processes and how to evaluate quantitative analyses, I am a specialist to me is easy...Will try to make you understand if you are interested to all this stuff concerning troodos geology I think we can share many informations 8)
What you think? It could be nice. I don't know nothing about you yet. Are you a biologo?
Can we talk by pm ? Let me know please.

ciao!
