Ciao a tutti !!
Is nice to see there's somebody who is interested of Troodos Chain.
Do I have the need to write you again that I am a geologist?

I've done a great job by mapping the Troodos area.

It's the only place on Earth where you can see a ancient ocean floor undisturbed.
We have also the same kind of rocks in Alps Chain but has been tilted and partially distroyed by tectonics movements.
Troodos is an amazing place for us.

What is so unusual about moufflon spotting. I counted dozens of them around Stavros tis Psokas. At lambing time, if you keep your distance (minimum 200 meters) and are quiet and have a good pair of binocs you can see the newborn lambs too, and the foxes that try to eat them. There must be over 3000 moufflon now in Troodos.

The foxes?
Come on niki...are you kidding...
The foxes chase wild rabbits and birds...or maybe you have a special breed of giant foxes tall as a black panters?

Hi D, Is your work published on the web? Would like a read if it is.

Interestingly, well to me if no one else, the only other place have visited where, like the Troodos, deep ocean floor is still visible on the surface, is on the Lizard Peninsular, Cornwall, England (no offence intended to the good people of Kernow with putting them in England).

ciao Bill
Sure there is an article on the web written by my professor ( my name is not present as a author 'cause I was still a student )
follow this link : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10736270

In collaboration with Milano University I wrote another article dealing with oceanic crust exposed in Arabian Peninsula ( Oman and U.A.E ) regardind sands provenance and study of heavy minerals belong to Semail.
follow this link: http://jsedres.sepmonline.org/cgi/conte ... t/73/4/572

Now I am writing ( or rather I try to write in the night....) another article about the Messinian salinity crisis in east Mediterranean referred to Pissouri Basin. All rocks surface are well exposed along the motorway from the village to Paphos. I need time to develope my research, I should be in Cyprus very soon..

Gosh! Knew there was a salinity crisis in the North Atlantic, but first hear of one in the Med. Will look at your link on the Troodos..... after the football.

Arrivederci for now.
