It was stated that the case against the estage agent was dropped for the reason that it could not be pursued/enforced in the 'TRNC' where he was.
The law being discussed is not applicable to any purchases PRIOR to 2006 when it was passed.
The advice given (quite openly on a lot of estate agent websites) to prospective purchasers going through the crossings is not to carry documents or even pamphlets relating to property with them. To mail them to themselves or their 'TRNC' 'advocate'.
I've been stopped and asked only once if I own a property in the North (I drive an RoC plated car). And that was by the 'TRNC' police at the crossing, not the RoC. It was shortly after the Orams lost their last case.
The only thing I've EVER been asked about coming back South was Cigarettes and Alcohol. I never have any with me but they always do a quick search of my car even though I say I have nothing. I have wondered if it would be easier to buy 2 pkts of ciggies and a bottle of scotch and declare them!
