'Demilitarisation' is different to removal of the Turkish occupation forces. Only the Turkish occupation is illegal. Cyprus has the right to bear arms and form alliances. Turkey cannot impose its will on a sovereign nation which is so small it poses no danger to any neighbours.
This is just another way of hanging on to the occupation and does not represent a serious initiative to restore peace and cordiality in the area..
Oracle agree with your comment above, however, I would see this as a compromise on the behalf of RoC government if it means unifying our people and our land. I would like Turkey also to agree that she will not threaten the soverignty of the Island in the future. Also the UN to guarantee that in case where Cyprus is threatened by any other nation that they will provide military support.
