Unofficial though , God save the Queen is the official anthem of Great Britain and Northern Ireland .
Guess they could have picked something a bit more fun or exciting though . Scotts have right idea with the two above .

Hang on a minute....!

Proposed anthem for England

England currently has no agreed national anthem, with "God Save the Queen", the national anthem of the United Kingdom, often being used in sporting events in which England competes separately from the other Home Nations. There are calls for this to be changed,[5][6] however, and a 2006 survey conducted by the BBC suggested that 55% of the English public would rather have "Land of Hope and Glory" than "God Save the Queen" as their national anthem

I think this clip is brilliant and could,nt agree more that the UK or British anthem is so boring and never seems to lift national spirit much, NEEDS CHANGING I think Mr Connelly here is right to show it up.

But given a choice I,d opt for this one, in my youth this WAS the national anthem.

Though not a monarchist I feel that the institution along with the national anthem are about the only cultural remnants of the 20th century and beyond , having had so much of the British culture impinged by the influence of third world invasions Im pleased that the monarchy along with the national anthem remain as stark reminders to those wishing to change our way of life that Britain remains British at heart.
Shame about our footballers though , overpaid , oversexed , over exposed and fucking useless !!

That can change at an instance, Miltiades. Given a series of successes they will be elevated to heroes.
