I told you before that there's nothing wrong with charging €20-30 p/a for membership as it would go a long way in reimbursing you for your troubles. As for the management of the paid accounts you can get one of the members to deal with all that.

Remember the BBSs in the Fidonet days? We used to pay for crappy text-mode interfaces!

I'm with GR! on this. Free to browse, but pay to use! :D It might make people think twice before they post.

You could have a diminishing scale of costs for heavy users ... bit like buy 2 posts, get one free! :D

i would hope that the political section is so informative, that it attracts more readership than the other sections comparitively, to this forum.

if all of it is personal and petty it is boring for "us", no?

i for one would like to say that i am grateful for this website, and although it is not perfect, it is by far the most compelling as a forum for intercommunal discussion we have for Cyprus right now on the web.

Thank you Admin for another thoughtful and mature post to enlighten us re YFred...Whatever he has said or done you know it was said in a moment of anger,as we all do and say things we regret soon after...

This Forum would not be the same without certain members, and Yfred is one of them...Deniz is another...We want them back soon...So please do whatever you can to make it easy for YFred to return...

Also, please do not make too many changes to the format...Some of us like it just the way it is,functional and very easy to use...

And we appreciate having such a platform to discuss the Cyprob with other people who are passionate about our homeland...Even when we are fighting and disagreeing intensely there is always a sense of belonging here,a sense of family I have not found on any other forum...That is why I keep coming back here..Personally i feel a strong bond with everyone who is active in the Cyprus problem section, despite their opinions or intansigencies...

Thank you once again for providing us this opportunity...

Dear O perhaps Admin (blessed is their name) could supply you with a list of how many people are registered on this Forum, and how many ACTUALLY post these days.... i think therin lies the answer to your "pay to speak" idea.

Familiarity breeds contempt. Too many of us take the forum for granted, one day we may turn on our PCs and find that we have all disappeared. Many of us address each other in a way that we would not even consider face to face.

Thank you Admin for providing us with the Cyprus Forum

Well said Bir, but as our Freddie was so very rude to Admin, he really should, in time, take the first step and send our Wise Admin a suitably grovelling apology.
