Anti-Turkish occupation flotilla to Cyprus called off

Anti-Turkish occupation flotilla to Cyprus called off

Postby Gasman » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:04 pm

Today's Jerusalem post

http://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?id=178574

Israeli government officials persuaded the activists to cancel the voyage, because they were worried that the media attention would remind international media of the Gaza flotilla when most of the world’s attention had shifted to other issues like the British Petroleum spill and the World Cup.

also ...

A group of Israeli students who were planning to go Turkey to remind the world about the Armenian genocide and what they labeled the ongoing Turkish oppression of their Kurdish minority may also cancel their plans.

On hold for the World Cup mate!

Don't you worry about it. RoC/Israeli relations have come a long way the last few weeks, and it is only a matter of time before Turkey finally pushes Israel over the edge.

Also, their explanation is very plausible. No need for me to elaborate!
