Australia's development has not outpaced Cyprus in the last 30 years! In fact, RoC society is similar to Australia's society in many respects.
You seem to have an overinflated sense of your self worth. Australia is a tolerant nation because all citizens have played a role, but more importantly it was the education system which turned the country around and Malcolm Fraser, a statesman in his own right!
Can you tell me what the legitimate(!) RoC government has done in the past 47 years to foster harmony and understanding between its citizens of different ethnic backgrounds??? If you can't think of any, there is the key as to why you cannot compare Australia with Cyprus...
I have a very healthy sense of worth, thank you very much...And I share your opinion on Malcolm Fraser..I had the pleasure of having an in depth discussion with him about Australian and world affairs once back in the mid 90s,and I found him to be a perfect gentleman and a great humanitarian...
I was also impressed with Senator Nick Bolkus,by the way, when I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was the Immigration Minister in the Hawke labour government...But I better stop before you accuse me of name dropping...
