Two leaders discussing the PROPERTY issue!!!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Two leaders discussing the PROPERTY issue!!!

Postby t_henrymb » Mon Jun 14, 2010 11:43 pm

The Republic of Cyprus President Dimitris Christofias and the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community will be meeting at 16:00 on 15/06/10.... They will be discussing the property issue...

What should be the solution on property???

My opinion: All the pre-74 property owners should be given the full right to decide on their property... Christofias or Eroğlu should not have the right to decide on the fate of someones private property!!!

Is that what you call Compromise?

Perhaps the TC owners of Larnaca airport can have their land back too?

Is when ever roc feels like making an exception they can?

I see reality has not come home to some of our forumers.

Do you follow what is decided in the ECHR rulings about Cyprus or will you remain asleep for ever.

He’s obviously talking JUSTICE not an Ottoman “compromise”!

Perhaps the TC owners of Larnaca airport can have their land back too?

Are you sure he wants that ONE lot next to the airport back or the generous expropriation money?

And what exactly is that "reality" of yours?

Do you follow UN Resolutions illiterate one?

UN RESOLUTION 361 (1974)

UN RESOLUTION 541 (1983)

I've only read them upto 1570 and then got so upset, I stopped reading then since.

Listen to what UN is saying FFS. Forget 74 and 83. Rendunant and all that a bit like your brain.

Yes, today's the day. I wonder what we will hear. Must say I have also wondered about this 'repatriation' stuff when it comes to all the very aged GCs who live in the TC owned property here in the old town in Larnaca.

Some of them are hardly mobile. Just sit outside all day or sit inside looking out.

I wonder if, having been ousted and plonked down somewhere against their wishes once, and having spent most of their adult lives where they are now - they would be happy to up sticks and do it again.

Or how they will feel if they have to move from the old houses they are in now where they have had the same neighbours for so many years, should the TCs who own the properties they live in want to move back into their houses?

What I am talking about is, not just the 'principle' of the thing when it comes to whatever is decided about the property issues. But the practilities of it and the effect it will or might have on ordinary individuals, some of whom are in their dotage.

Question regarding the Larnaca Airport....

A government can use a PRIVATE land to BUILD PUBLIC FACILITIES (airports, parks etc...) whatever the situation!!!

That is what i know, but i need to find the excact documents to prove the point ;)

If it was an roc decision I would agree, but it has not been since 1963. Unfortunately it was GRoC that made those decisions and it is as null and void as TRNC decisions. TCs will accept nothing less. If you accept those as being legitimate then TRNC is just as. These negotiations are proving and will finally prove that exact point.

One is a government representing the island and the other is an illegal regime.

Don't be daft.

Who is being daft. Has roc been ok since 1963? Just because it is legitimate does that make it right? So was the Third Reich.

If you are happy with that then you are happy with status quo.
