If it was an roc decision I would agree, but it has not been since 1963. Unfortunately it was GRoC that made those decisions and it is as null and void as TRNC decisions. TCs will accept nothing less. If you accept those as being legitimate then TRNC is just as. These negotiations are proving and will finally prove that exact point.

One is a government representing the island and the other is an illegal regime.

Don't be daft.

You know what YFred is saying though,DT...
RoC might be a legitimate government in the eyes of the world. In TC eyes it is a pirated state lacking moral fibre...If you can't understand why the TCs feel that way, you are the one who is being daft...

I also "feel" many things Bir. I'm a big boy however and I have to go by how the world works, both in my business and my life.

The fact that you are disagreeing with me calling Yfred daft is an eye opener though.

The fact that YFred tells you things you don't want to hear does not make him daft...You are at a crossroads now,DT...You either believe the official GC propaganda line that the TCs walked out of government because TMT told them so,or believe that they left in fear of their lives, and the fear was real...I know which one I believe and which one YFred believes...And we both lived through those heady days...Now you tell us which version you believe, and we shall see if there is any point to keep talking to each other...

I hope you and Yfred are very happy with each other. Personally I just returned from 3 days in Bebek and I know which one of us has the more complete view of things.

P.S It ain't you and it sure as hell ain't that gimp you're hangin around with.

You have just spent 3 days in Istanbul and that made you an expert on Cyprus in the 60s?????

DT...The Turks will tell you anything you want to hear, especially if there is something in it for them....

So you could see the complete picture on Cyprus from Istanbul....Great,keep on believing it... You might like to discuss the solution with your mates from istanbul, what do I know about the Cyprus problem???

it all depends on who you speak to.

If you have spoken to Davutoglu or Erdogan I will agree with you...But even they wouldn't know what the hell happened in Cyprus in the 60s...
But who cares, huh??? It is what happened in 74 which really counts for you guys...Terrible Turks woke up one sunny July day and decided it was a nice day to invade their midget neighbour...Oh,and they have been planning it for decades, even organised all the TCs into enclaves just waiting for the day the Colonels in Greece would stage a coup in Cyprus,to strike...

Reh Henry, we discussed the situation with the old LCA here at great length a couple of years ago. We proved that only about 4% of the old LCA was on tissy land. The rest was built on a former GB airfield.

So all the propaganda you hear about it being built on tissy land is pollocks.

Was that using one of your roc indisputable links that was used to prove or was it from one of GR's sites.

The owner has taken the roc to court and is after 100M compensation. How big is this airport. Last I heard it was just a shack.

Turks joining the EU and travelling around freely is a thought to which the UK, the most ardent supporter of Turkey in the EU, has cut short. The UK was the first EU member state to restrict that possibility. Greece also made it clear that it would not go for it as did Bulgaria.

Cyprus most likely will have restrictions on both mainland Greeks and Turks having rights of residence and establishment on the island.

But if Turkey is getting richer, as we are often told, would the wave of migration likely be the other way round?

From what I saw on the late news tonight, they seem to be saying that the two leaders will meet again on various dates in the future and for ever and ever after amen!

I said "Turks" and that was an overgeneralisation which was wrong of me...Not all Turks are like that,I am sure...But those DT is likely to come across would be, and are, by the sound of it...In any case,I am a Turkish Cypriot,a different animal altogether...Brainless swines like you do not understand the difference... :)

According to Politis paper today Talat is criticising Eroglu for falling into a GC trap and opening the properties and territory issue. Talat says the issue is too complicated and should have been left last, with priority going to the issue of power sharing. That had been his tactic during the talks he added. So it seems that dealying tactics is not an exclusive GC tactic.

As for Eorglu, the paper says that he is unwilling to commit any areas where settlers or TCs have been housed for a long time. This would seem to bar all areas from return. Apart from Famagusta are there any other areas near the demarcation line which are not inhabited? Seems like there are none.

In the properties issue Eroglu says that the "rights" of the current occupier should outrank title, an idea which is definitely not going to fly with any property owners, either GC or TC.
