Todays Politis article on Famagusta by Yiangos Mikkellides..

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

What a sad and sorry spin of excuses you weave Bananiot. They were given different "lodgings" because that is the RoC's policy and not so that they don't "make a fuss". These are people who were forcibly, and at gunpoint violently, expelled from their homes!

Where's your compassion? Or, at least truth?

Much as I hate to have to say it.....

There are Greek-Cypriot refugees I spoke to on this side who grabbed what is today some very valuable T.C. property here and openly admitted that what they left behind in the north was inferior to what they have now!Even worse,in common with the rejectionists, nationalists and nutcases they say they don't want any change to the status-quo because they fear they will either have to give it up if their old properties are in the area retuned to this side or pay compensation if what they have now is worth more than they left behind! Not everyone had a hotel or valuable land by the sea in prime areas in the north which they yearn to go back to after so long and this is a sensitive subject which will have to be faced as part of a solution....At the end of the day,'kathenas yia to symferon tou!!'Not to mention non-refugees who have built on T.C. property illegally....

Don’t be silly! Once the RoC takes over the currently occupied territory, the whole place will be fixed up and real estate prices will sky rocket!

I think the important part of my last post is this:"It has happened but in extremely few occasions, perhaps that can be counted by the fingers of one hand". Do you know of a different truth oracle? If you do, spill it out.

GR, certain area will do, but others will not. Second generation refugees will not return to a dusty village in the mesaoria, to which they do not identify, that is for sure.
