Boozy Brits with ASBOs should be Banned from Cyprus!

Postby Oracle » Sun Jun 13, 2010 12:23 am

This woman has been served an ASBO and banned from every Pub in the UK ... So, she is now flying out to Ayia Napa!

Shouldn't she be deported back to Blighty?

THE BBC was last night accused of "exploiting" Britain's drunkest woman by filming her on holiday in the boozy resort of Ayia Napa

What's wrong with that?

Hope she pops to Polis for the weekend

:D

Like other visitors to Agia Napa the lady in question will find loads of good value bars where she'll get the warm and traditional welcome that CY is famous for and where she can spend her tourist euros. The lady will be delighted to know that many of these bars have Happy Hours which extend well in to the early hours and locally produced shots cost next to nothing so once again proving that CY is a great destination for those on a tight budget.

Being as I seem to be getting more like Victor Meldrew each day, I support Oracle's point of view!

The vast majority of Brits living here in Cyprus fully respect the local culture, and try to integrate with the local community, but there is always the monority element of morons (and not always Brits) that just want to drink themselves into oblivion each day, and show themselves and anyone else of their nationality up. Allowing this woman to visit the island with the sole purpose of getting "blitzed" each day in the name of entertainment is an absolute farce, and the BBC should be ashamed. They claim that they're not funding her visit, but if that is the case, then why are they following her with a film crew?

Diabolical! Rant over .................

Napa seems quite sedate these days. Mind you, I never visit it past midnight.

They shoulda took her to Pafos - and dropped her off in Bar Street, she'd have blended in well there.

Who'da tho't ... Lady O reads THE SUN! I am trying to work out which 'outraged' comment was left by Lady O.

Can't find one signed 'Toodle Pip!' So I reckon it must be 'Thank God I live in Paphos' lol!

Simple Simon fails to realise that not only has his taxes paid for her trip but via the compulsory TV licence tax he is paying for the BBC crew to follow her too!

Still happy about her trip Simon?

I hope the benefits office looks closely at the amount the British taxpayer is giving her each week to drink to excess and take holidays abroad - clearly too much.

Good post, actually agreeing with O here too  Hate hate hate boozy brits abroad wherever they are.

Napa out of season is ok I think, but gets OTT later on, but its a holiday resort that no doubt makes a lot of people very rich in season, so I expect it to be a bit coarse without a thought to the image :)

you didnt need to comment O, just direct people to the comments section on that article - everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet..
see below.

I've always said benefits should be in the form of food coupons etc not cash. coupons with a name on and require ID (so they can't be sold on)

Simple solution, you claims benefits, you CANNOT have a passport, you don't need one, end of!

Well she's no different from the Crown, the BBC and the MPs who use our money for all of their luxuries too.

Whatthehell, that was a great response. Thank you. Actually, if I did write to the BBC and they couched a response similar to yours then there is a chance I could get a freebie as a restraining order might be considered as the result of a criminal... [read more]

What a complete slap in the face to every hard working, tax paying Brit who can't afford to pay for a holiday. It's bad enough our pathetic benefits system allows this type of thing to happen but it's even worse that the BBC then goes and promotes it... [read more]

Nice to see WE paid for her holiday. Get a job you lazy cow

Better still - Dubai. Then let's see how they deal with the drunken idiot.

0 0 12:56PM, Jun 11, 2010Jelleetots69
So she's turning "her life around" hey? Hmmm. Perhaps she should have picked Devon, or the New Forest, or somewhere equally as quiet, as opposed to a holiday island notorious for the drunken antics of its visitors. Or is she planning to steer clear of the nightclubs and is just going for the scenery?

0 0 12:41PM, Jun 11, 2010Jelleetots69
She shouldn't be eligible for benefits! She isn't over 65 or disabled so get to work! @whatthehell: unfortunately, your comment is so true :( what a sad state this land is in.

0 0 12:37PM, Jun 11, 2010world_to_rights
If she likes drinking so much she should stay in Cyprus where she hasn't got a booze ban then she can drink as much as she wants there.

0 0 11:48AM, Jun 11, 2010Austin
Dear Exakta, It is with deep regret that I must inform you that the BBC has looked closely at your request for a holiday and rejected it for the following reasons:- 1. You admit to working all your life, thus contributing to "the pot". 2. You could... [read more]

"The jobless alcoholic saved up her benefit for the two-week trip to the infamous resort in Cyprus." If she can save enough to go on a holiday like this, then she is getting to much of our cash. This now makes a case for all benifits to be looked at,... [read more]
