I didn't cut and paste the Sun readers' opinions because I wasn't really interested in what they had to say (realized they would be more interested in the fact she is on Benefits).

I'm more interested in airing the angle of whether people with ASBOs should be allowed to go abroad (since known football hooligans are not). Especially when they have publicised the fact they intend to repeat the sort of behaviour which led to the ASBO.

It's like sentencing someone for murder, then allowing them to go and have another go at a murder ---- this being acceptable because now it's abroad!

I'm not talking about louts who are normally behaved during the week then get drunk at weekends or when on holiday and cause trouble. I'm talking about alcoholics who are addicted to the stuff.

So according to you alcoholics are sick people just as cancer patients are , diabetics etc !
Bollocks I say to that . Alcoholics self inflict their own bloody problem and are nothing more than bloody drunks or people who can not take their drink which is about 90 % of the Great British public .
I drink each day a bottle of wine , two on Sundays and bank holidays , have done so for more than 40 years , Im neither an alcoholic or a drunk , I drink and still maintain my self respect and integrity , these bloody shit that drink them selves stupid are indeed sick , sick in the head stupid bastards.

Lol this guy reminds me of the Alcoholics Association in a South Park episode!
Seriously, being an alcoholic isn't a disease, if it is then doing drugs is a disease. But if it is a disease, what type of disease? A virus? Bacteria? Please, enlighten us with your 'knowledge'

Milti, if you drink every day, you are an alcoholic. I would get my liver and blood tested if I was you. Just to see how much damage has been done.

The biggest problem of all alcoholics is their refusal to accept that they have a problem. I have seen too many people crumble because of drink. It takes a long time to take effect but once it starts, it is very fast.

It's not how much you drink per day but how long you can last without drinking which determines whether you are dependant on alcohol or not.

So what is the duration you can go without a drink so as not to be classified as an alcoholic? Medically speaking.

I think they call it 'addiction'.

It's like sentencing someone for murder, then allowing them to go and have another go at a murder

Is it? Another ridiculous comparison. Drunk and disorderly vs Murder lol!

I think most of the real damage comes from taking painkillers, sleeping pills antidepressants and some other nasties like that, which the Pharmaceutical companies would prefer we did not know about.

Combining alcohol and some of these common drugs is a fast route to cirrhosis.

Alcohol alone, for most Europeans (not Asians), is usually pretty well detoxified ... so long as one remembers to stop drinking long enough.

If Miltiades is running a successful business, has a thriving functioning family around him, then he is probably just drinking out of habit rather than addiction... Sounds to me like he pretty much only drinks socially and once business for the day is done. Doesn't seem like he's dependent on alcohol to function through the day.

Surely an alcoholic is someone who is addicted to drink as opposed to someone who enjoys drinking but can take it or leave it. Most of the weekend piss artists like to drink to excess but I doubt most of them are alcoholics. As far as I know Milti, like me, enjoys the taste of decent wine. Having said that one bottle per day is about twice the recommended consumption for a man.
