O has a long memory. Perhaps She confuses you with the Venetians who wielded an iron rod over the GO church so long ago. She has not moved with times I am afraid. Besides , you are female. We used to say, " bir kümeste bir horoz olur", trans: "you only have one cockerel in per chicken coup." In her case it is "only one female per forum". I hope you get my drift. Bless her. We do love her..........antics!

I've been here long enough to have had many feistier females fighting to remove me from the forum - as soon as they become territorial. I can list them, but it might encourage them to go on the attack again.

This current problem lies in the almost imperceptible switch which seemed to have occurred over the week in which I was away.

I left thinking Daniella was OK and "sweet" when she PM'd me with her problem ... to then discover that she refers to Eroglu as "President" and then follows through with posts like this one:

Daniella wrote:1 - North Cyprus has always benefited from the quiet support of Israel.
2 - Turkish Northern Cyprus is used by who need recycle money.
3 - Ariel Sharon and his family began in early '90 to make casino deals on the West Bank and Cyprus. ( Israeli casino flights now fly to North Cyprus)

It seems she is slow to learn (although attention-seeking might be at the heart of it ) that there is no such place as "Turkish Northern Cyprus" with a "President Eroglu"!

*** Anyway, this is a public forum and I'm not interested in any-one's personal laundry - just stick to correct conventions and discuss the politics within the posts, please, and everything will be hunky dory.

Are items 1,2 and 3 false then? 1 and 2 are true and we all know the Israeli's are pumping money into the northern economy. What is the problem.

Pumping? Rather dramatic when we haven't seen even a trickle of evidence.

Despite that.

Point 1. Capitalisation of "North Cyprus" is a necessary grammatical construct based on it being the start of a sentence. She's also entitled to her stubborn opinion if she thinks the occupied area has benefited from the "quiet support of Israel" even though we have seen no reliable or convincing evidence for this. But, even a few crumbs thrown in the direction of TCs, by private individuals, can be construed as beneficial to the ever-hungry, insatiable thieves.

Point 2. I do not understand due to the poor English - apart from the (~ universally applicable?) use of upper case for proper nouns; so she has within her capabilities, deliberately named the occupied north as "Turkish Northern Cyprus" .... which it is NOT!

The callous disregard for correct convention, in these instances, is anti-Cypriot.

Point 3. There has been no presentation of evidence for, but it's irrelevant, hackneyed gossip since we are discussing novel forging of alliances and accept these have been changing - something which we have been wishing for long-times!

Regardless of poor English, you do know to what she refers to, otherwise you would not have made plans to cycle through the north.

Where there is no fire there can be no smoke. Everyone knows in the north and they hate it. Ofcourse there are those that benefit most as it it those that are selling off the GC land to these outsiders (directly or indirectly).

What the hell are you talking about? What has my long-term desire to cycle the coastline of a WHOLE Cyprus have to do with her poor English (btw ... I am not complaining about the English, just stating I couldn't make sense of that section).

We have many months to go before the start of the Olympics and I hope such a possible threat will highlight how unreasonable the British Museum Director and Trustees are being - Showing them how Greece could play dirty, but hoping it won't be forced to compromise its ideals for such scoundrels.

I am glad that you have finally made up your mind. Would you also support the return of whole temples of the Greco-roman period to Turkey too. Like the Pergamon Temple ( in Germany) and the one in the British museum too.

@Daniella ... think carefully what the 'problem' was or should I say "who" the problem was  before you embarrass yourself, since it was not I who contacted you regarding you-know-who.

@Deniz ... Don't confuse the special issue of the Parthenon marbles with other artefacts; described in detail in the appropriate thread ....

And now, for all the trolls who have had too much Christmas Sherry and gone berserk, this is all I have to say ..... :D

What is this Israel? Well Mehmet, Israel is a country that has clearly shown that the world doesn't spin on an axis centered around you and that is precisely why you are so angry at that State. Yes, i know it hurts. Here is a tissue.
