ehm...boys

@ Lady O : ... my dear I answer quietly that I would like to get in your head just to experience the feeling of emptiness.
You're the first person in the world that tells me I'm dishonest. You’re right! And I'm also much more dishonest than you'll ever be.
That's why you are jealous and envious of me

ciao Lit! thanks for the news :D

Of what do I have to be envious? Your poor command of English, your over-inflated sense of importance or your dishonesty when caught throwing around anti-Cypriot aspersions?

Those are the only things I see and believe me, you are not in the least enviable.

Now, back to the Turks' poor relations with the Israelis ...

Tensions between former close allies Turkey and Israel have flared up again, with the Turkish foreign minister accusing the Israeli government of not being sincere in wanting to resolve current bilateral tensions.

The rally quickly turned into an anti-Israeli demonstration.

"Murdering Israelis, country of treachery," shouted a protester.

One women's view was typical of those who came to welcome the ship home. "This is just a small meeting to warn Israel," she says. "If they are to make a move or threaten us, they should know that there are many people that they should be scared of. We are not here for nothing."

Foreign Minister Davutoglu even questioned whether Israel would have helped Turkey so promptly if it had faced a similar disaster like the forest fire. That drew an angry response from Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, who pointed out the relief Israel sent to Turkey after a devastating quake in 1999.

Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out any apology, saying they would only be prepared to express regret for loss of life.

"Killing nine Turks, people are saying they are taking us for Arabs," he said. "What is this Israel? What is this Israel? ( I think they may lose some more "allies" over that racist remark)

But for now, at least, observers say domestic considerations in both countries seem to be trumping any efforts to see eye-to-eye.

Just like Israeli-Turkish relations, every thing is fluid. Can change in the slightest breeze, however pleasant it is. Welcome to Cypro-politics D.

O has a long memory. Perhaps She confuses you with the Venetians who wielded an iron rod over the GO church so long ago. She has not moved with times I am afraid. Besides , you are female. We used to say, " bir kümeste bir horoz olur", trans: "you only have one cockerel in per chicken coup." In her case it is "only one female per forum". I hope you get my drift. Bless her. We do love her..........antics!

I've been here long enough to have had many feistier females fighting to remove me from the forum - as soon as they become territorial. I can list them, but it might encourage them to go on the attack again.

This current problem lies in the almost imperceptible switch which seemed to have occurred over the week in which I was away.

I left thinking Daniella was OK and "sweet" when she PM'd me with her problem ... to then discover that she refers to Eroglu as "President" and then follows through with posts like this one:

Daniella wrote:1 - North Cyprus has always benefited from the quiet support of Israel.
2 - Turkish Northern Cyprus is used by who need recycle money.
3 - Ariel Sharon and his family began in early '90 to make casino deals on the West Bank and Cyprus. ( Israeli casino flights now fly to North Cyprus)

It seems she is slow to learn (although attention-seeking might be at the heart of it ) that there is no such place as "Turkish Northern Cyprus" with a "President Eroglu"!

*** Anyway, this is a public forum and I'm not interested in any-one's personal laundry - just stick to correct conventions and discuss the politics within the posts, please, and everything will be hunky dory.
