Of course it does, it was built by Greeks, apart from the medieval rockets of course.

The lightening was also the work of the Turks.

If putting in a few lights is your claim to fame you must be struggling.

That can not be St Sophia. The four minarets are at the four corners of the compass. The minarets here are at the front and there are two more at the back out of the picture. But the style is the same.

Yes, perhaps a replica of Hagia Sophia then. The Turks/Ottomans did build several on the model of the once great basilica.

It seems those days the Otto's did in fact appreciate Byzantine architecture. Mind you the greatest 'Turkish' architect of the 16/17th century, Mimar Sinan was himself a convert from Christianity.

Yes, I believe most sources indicate Mimar Sinan was Greek, although some also say he was possibly Armenian.

I heard of him being Greek but not Armenian.

The big difference is that unlike Turkey, Iran is mostly self sufficient after many years of isolation so she can easily survive.

Turkey though seems oblivious of how heavily reliant she is of the US. Her US-made weapons systems wouldn’t even twitch against the West.

The assumption is that Iran and Turkey would be allies, and they would help each other survive...Is it not???Try to imagine such an alliance...The USA is,and they are shitting themselves...But as you know,I am a man of peace,GR! I do not make war scenarios like you do as a pastime...There is not one nation on earth ,Russia and China included, who would dare take on Turkey and Iran combined...It would be total folly...They are too scared to take on Iran alone...Back to the drawing board,Tiberius (with a keyboard)... :)

ps..I am not saying no nation is capable of invading and overcoming initally the Turkish or Iranian defences,but....heaven help them afterwards!!!

Israel, Cyprus deal leads to rebuke in Turkey
Turkey's Foreign Ministry summoned Ambassador Gaby Levy for a sharp rebuke.
20 December 10 10:01, Globes' correspondent
Turkey's Foreign Ministry summoned Ambassador Gaby Levy for a sharp rebuke over an offshore gas and oil exploration agreement that Israel and Cyprus signed Friday, reports “IDF Radio" (Galei Zahal) reports that and other media outlets. Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau and Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Kyprianou signed the agreement delineating the two countries' exclusive economic zones.

Turkey does not recognize the Cypriot government, and is the only country to recognize the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The summons came as Israel is trying to rebuild relations with Turkey, and after Turkey sent firefighters to help battle the Carmel fire earlier this month.

Friday's agreement enables Israel and Cyprus to pursue development of their energy sources in the deepwater East Mediterranean Basin. Cyprus has already signed similar agreements with Egypt and Lebanon, and Turkey has asked both countries to put the agreements on hold.

Israel and Turkey to embrace the "enemy of my enemy"

Israel is reconfiguring its strategic relations, in particular reaching out to historic foes of Turkey as Ankara turns its back on Tel Aviv, writes Saleh Al-Naami

Just like the "Direct Trade" debacle, this will go to the higher, deciding courts - EU - and then the TCs will see how much they have lost by inviting belligerent Turkey into the equation to fulfil their greedy, short-term thieving roles of consuming the GCs' properties!

But life goes on and now they have "sold" those GC properties, they have to trade and they have to increase their productivity and these will be denied them by stronger forces than the unfortunate 200,000 GCs had to call upon, back in 1974. We now have the EU; and do NOT underestimate the EU's desire and affection for Cyprus!

Cyprus will form friendly alliances with whomever, wherever and whenever the opportunities arise. :D
