The lost 13th tribe of the exiled Jews..........

Deniz ... I wonder why you felt the need to post this?

He has his reasons. Its to discredit the Jews more than anything else. If Jews are related to Khazars as Deniz would like to think then why do Jews claim Israel as their historic homeland?

Its not what I think. Its what some scholars think. I am just pointing out the remifications by extrapolation.. CAnt you see I provided a link?

I can provide a link too. Here, from CNN:

http://pagingdrgupta.blogs.cnn.com/2010 ... enome-era/

Sorry, no mention of Khazars.

Where do you think the Khazars lived?

The article states: 'Greek, and Turkish Sephardim; and Iranian, Iraqi, and Syrian'. Its semantics my dear friend semantics.
They lived around the Caspian sea - which in Turkish is called the Khazar lake/sea. That is where the people highlighted in red lived.

Thanks for the link anyway.

Deniz ... what you posted is the type of revisionist rubbish which the genetic screening mapping methods blow away for good. It doesn't matter how many regions the Turks strip of their heritage, rename and revise, the DNA story is inviolable.

The study actually proves that Jews are a distinct population. Here, if you need it spelled out for you then read this article that talks about the same study that was mentioned in CNN.

This particular article is from the Los Angeles Times:

http://www.latimes.com/news/science/la- ... ?track=rss

The study, which was conducted primarily to further medical knowledge of genetic diseases, rejected a highly controversial idea that Ashkenazi Jews are descended from Khazars in Eastern Europe who converted to Judaism — an idea that has recently been used in an attempt to discredit the idea that Jews belong in Israel because it is their historic homeland.

Why would I want to discredit the Jews? I have nothing against the Jews. The lost tribe originated from Israel to begin with. I dont understand your question which asks ' If Jews are related to Khazars as Deniz would like to think then why do Jews claim Israel as their historic homeland?' It is their historic homeland.

But what you are trying to do is claim that some link to "Khazars" means the Turks are native to this region.

What's the funny side? That Turks, despite their overwhelming physical presence, have no historical migratory reasons for their overwhelming expansionism and control in this part of the world?
