Heavy rain in Larnaca today

Postby Gasman » Thu Jun 10, 2010 9:34 pm

Very unusual for June. Windy and overcast yesterday and heavy rain today.

There is hardly any shore exposed round the salt lake yet - at this rate maybe it won't dry out this year?

Couldn't believe how windy it was in Pernera a couple of weeks ago. It was still hot in the day but really cold at night. Am I right in saying this is most unlike normal Cyprus weather? Not that we cared much - still love the place whatever the weather!

When I visited Cyprus 5 years ago at easter time I nearly got pneumonia. I had to borrow warm clothes from relatives till I found a H&M shop.

It's the middle June and we have the central heating on tonight. The forecast for Kent is 20-30 mm of rain overnight.

Wimp!

Why don't you wear a woolly hat like other pensioners?

Anyway, too many Brits in Cyprus marks the Apocalypse and so it's time gassy people left to allow resumption of normal service .....

My wife turned the heating on, she's a cool chick, and - she has to be obeyed.
Wooly hats make me itch.
I'm not a pensioner until August, although I am retired.

Someone has to fill the spaces left by the those who ran away from it. Someone has to spend money in the shops and pay tax and all that jazz.

Spot on Z4. Lovely warm sunny day today. We need the rain here anyway so I am not complaining. Just commenting that it is unusual to get rain in June.

I lived in the West Country for many years - down in West Penwith they call it 'liquid sunshine' lol! You did have a very short heatwave recently tho' didn't you? My daughter was out with the Kayak Club and told me she got a sunburned face lol!
