NORTHERN CYPRUS WELCOMES AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION
[July 29, 2005, 16:54:06]

The first commercial passenger aircraft flew from Baku to northern Cyprus on July 27, strengthening Azerbaijan’s ties with the internationally unrecognized territory. The Azerbaijani delegation consisting of businessmen, artists and representatives of mass media – total 90 men has arrived In the Airport Erjan, Lefkosha.

After visiting the Monument to Martyrs in the Center of Lefkosha, where the delegation’s members laid flowers on the monument and paid tribute to the Turkish soldiers, they have meet with the former President of the Northern Cyprus Rauf Denktash. The later has greeted the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and members of delegation for attention on the Northern Cyprus and Turkish Cypriot, and focused on the history and the present of the Northern Cyprus.

Head of the delegation, chairman of the Association of Turkish Businessmen Ahmed Erentok presented to Rauf Denktash a books about nationwide leader of the Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev, the Foundation named after Heydar Aliyev and other gifts.

Then Mr. Mehmet Ali Talat, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has received the delegation. Mr. Talat expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan people and leadership for organizing of the visit.

The Azerbaijani delegation has met also with the Finance Minister of the Northern Cyprus Ahmed Uzun, the economic and tourism minister Dervish Deniz, the Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyler.

uh oh the greak nation of Azerbaijan has thrown cold water to the GC administration... :roll:

Did you know what I thought when I first saw the post? "Greek Nation of Azerbaijan". Well this could have been more fun if it was true :lol:

P.S: Don't underestimate Azeri nation. Besides, it is far better to see Azerbaijanis around then Gambians :wink:

ummm nope...

oh and i think ive told you that the translation of the very nice quote you use is "I expect nothing; I fear nothing; I'm free"

Is thie above comment a Greek trait???

Today Azerbaijan tomorrow USA, UK, Israel etc has a domino effect.....before the referendum this would never have been thought of, who knows what will happen in the coming years if the status quo continues.
