I agree that Erdogan is all talk, he will not dare to go against the Americans. But this how it is today. If Turkey is pushed away from EU and it turns more Islamic, then I wouldn't be surprised if a Turkish leadership in the future attempts to gain more than what they can handle.

But even the talk of Erdogan has already caused irreparable damage for Turkey in my opinion. The USA and Israel will now take much more seriously the possibility that Turkey can turn against them and they will take this into account for their long term strategic planning.

Dream on Piratis. Are you telling me you don't realise that the real power in Turkey is in the hands of the military and they are under American control.

Did you not hear how the Turkish Parliament voted not to allow the Americans access through Turkey during the Iraq war, and did they not have access?

Wake up for god sake.

Piratis

Where did you see me talking about the "whole world"? Just Israel and USA will be more than enough.

Piratis, you want me to spell it out for you? The USA is the whole bloody world, haven;t you realised yet? You must be nuts to even contemplate that the US will turn militarily against Turkey. There are many other ways to twist the arm of Turkey if needed. But, your haste to propose war as the ultimate way of liberating Cyprus shows how much you hate this island.

War is the last resort to liberate Cyprus. It will also be the last resort for the USA, but if Turkey is stupid enough to attack Israel one day then be sure the US will not hesitate even for a second to react.

But I am still waiting to hear what you think is the way to liberate our island. So far the only thing you propose is how to officially give 1/3rd of our island to the Turks.

cyprus has been divided because its the way america and the uk have wanted it , if amerca and its alie wanted it any other way it would have been done, when the time is right and all the counties in the region show thier true colours there will be an outcome , an outcome that will suit america .it might not suit gc or tc .America dont give a dam about anyone except themselves, they have the israelies sponsoring the pkk ,we have the breakup of iraq happening at this very moment, with mosad involvement, ,,,,they work in very dubious ways . They have over the last few years been planning thier move on iran,Now what is interesting is were do turkey fit in , This morning an american senitor was giving the eu a bit of stick over its slowness with turkey's eu bid. So dont hold your breath on israel coming to help little cyprus YET.

Only rational actions will see the liberation of Cyprus. This means through negotiations and both sides accepting compromises.

yeah, nice one Banana, we can compromise, lets just GIVE them 1/3rd of the Island, and their compromise would be to let us continue breathing.
