I am impressed indeed. The vests as are worn by the police almost a common occurence hardly an offensive weapon. More likely for defensive purposes, but hey Azrail will hang on to any straw it can. With their Turkish insignia, it is hardly they will be worn by Terrorists but by the Turkish peace activists in Gaza or elsewhere where trouble from the IDF can be expected. It would be foolhardy go go to places of strife naked and unprotected. As to the night vision eq. no comment apart from the fact that ship personnel use them too.

Had they had guns the metal pipes would have been pointless.

Thanks for the link P. Interesting. Still does not get the Azrailites off the hook. IMO.

Life vests and NVGs are embargo items and I didn't see NVG being used by the Ship's crew. NVG is a great piece of kit for snipers. Also, there are no IDF operations currently under way in the Gaza Strip. But hundred of rockets have been fired in nearby Israeli towns.

I understand what you say P. That is exactly what these activists are doing. Breaking the illegal strangle-hold, sorry, the embargo over the innocent Gaza'ians. They go in with their tanks and bulldozers, level whole communities homes to the ground and then they are not allowed to rebuild.

The Azrailites must sure be proud of you Paphitis for your support.

The bullet vests and NVGs were found in the cargo holds. Obvioulsy, not very easy to find them within a consignment of many tonnes of aid.

Now, since some of the "activists" are going to be charged, then all the freight was filmed whilst being unloaded. Further to this, Israel has vowed to send the aid into Gaza, and has already tried to send some of it, but Hamas have refused entry of this aid until all activists are released.

Cement is on the embargoed list too. Nice one brains.

Interesting that the film taken by the people on the flotilla not yet returned to them, would be interesting to see.

Trouble is this is a PR event now and only those with an agenda would look at it any differently. We still have an issue of an aid ship - no guns or weapons found that could be effectively used onboard or by the Palestinians. The ship was breached in international waters. Israel is not willing to let an international enquiry after the devastating Goldstone report on war crimes by both Israel and Hamas.

If all was open and information was free then yes let's evaluate appropriately. It would be interesting to see what there is that would justify the abuse claimed by the persons on the vessels, the eye witness testimony of a man shot in the head while taking a picture.....

Paphitic your comments are either incredibly naive or horrendously constructed to further your political positioning. Unfortunately we know you too well to give you the benefit of naivety so we have to go with you are that evil.

Deniz, the RoC and Israel are allies as we have a common enemy. Potentially, we may even be fighting a war against this shared terrorist enemy.

Cement can be used by HAMAS to build bunkers. Therefore, it is an embargo item.

The Turks have been very clever in the aid items they wished to send their terrorist ally!

Instead of sending cement, they could have sent blue board building materials!

Military interceptions in International Waters are covered within the Geneva Conventions. There is nothing that prohibits Military Operations that intercept ships in International Waters as long as the Geneva Convention is followed.

Yes Paphitis....

A Cypriot official says Cyprus and Greece will seek ways of boosting the flow of humanitarian aid into blockaded Gaza.

Government spokesman Stefanos Stefanou said on Friday that Cyprus President Dimitris Christofias launched the initiative in cooperation with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou. Stefanou says Cypriot Foreign Minister Markos Kyprianou is already in Israel for meetings with officials there including his counterpart Avigdor Lieberman. Kyprianou will also meet with Palestinian Authority officials.

Maybe blue boards will be on that shipment....

The international efforts and sadly some blood spilt has opened the path to at least discussions. Else, you think Israel would even be talking right now about this issue?

Projecting your viewpoint to those in the 60s, there is no question that the TCs in the enclaves were made to suffer. Anything for political gain.

Sicko.

Go Paphetic give us the relevant Geneva convention code that justifies the action of raiding an aid vessel.

Deniz - where does this sicko live?
