EVKAF DELEGATION IN BRUSSELS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

EVKAF DELEGATION IN BRUSSELS

Postby halil » Wed Jun 02, 2010 5:17 pm

The European Foundation Centre (EFC) has organised the first-ever Foundation Week in Brussels. The Foundation Week aims to connect foundations with policy and decision makers, NGOs, and other stakeholders to both showcase their work and to discuss issues that matter to Europe and its citizens.

A delegation from the Evkaf Administration is also in Brussels to take part in the week long events.

The Evkaf Administrations – which has been a member of the EFC - has manned a stand at the Interactive Fair at the Square - Brussels Meeting Center.

The director of the Evkaf Administration Mustafa Kemal Kaymakamzade told Bayrak Television that the fair has created an opportunity for the foundation to inform the visitors on their activities and to promote the TRNC.
Meanwhile, Kaymakamzade has attended the Turkish Foundations Panel which was organized as part of the Foundation Week.

In an address at the panel, he provided detailed activities about the Evkaf Administration and said that the foundation has been continuing its activities in spite of the fact that many of its properties were seized by the Greek Cypriot Administration after 1974.

Some of the "seized" properties have been repaired by the ROC (Sultan Tekke and Larnaca mosques to name two), how many churshes have been repaired in the north - apart from the ones that are exploited to make money out of tourists?

For a serious man that is an incredible question. For an economy that has been suffocated and cannot support itself, do you really expect any to be repaired.

Come now you are being unreasonable even thinking it.

Well Fred, the "trnc" had many options:-

Prevent the deliberate destruction and desecration of the churches.
Plough back the cash from the stolen icons into the repairs
Ask the UN the Pope or even God himself for help in maintaining the buildings.
Invite the Greek Orthodox Church (its got loadsamoney) to pay for the work

My word that's a lot of options.

Unfortunately none was available. Can you see the GOC handing over any money for repairs.

Why did the GOC actually offer such a deal? Denktash loving his cut would have snapped it.

Yeah right. You are funny. You remind me of Marie Antoinette.

Let them eat cakes.

I think we have another option! Just turn them into mosques by adding a minaret 10 meters away next to each, and Saudi Arabia will finance all repairs. :D

Afterall how many GCs attend prayers in TRNC?
