Now let me get this straight - a LIMASSOL team is going into the 'TRNC' for this match?

Yup, to Northern Cyprus.
I think its great, bridging the gap a little. :D
Hope it picks up fast.

I think you've stopped the puck with your head once too often.

If I recall correctly, my very fist post on CF was about the lack of hockey back in 2007, and O you were one of the first to comment.
3 years... what a great feeling after so long 8)
I'd love to play with these guys but damn... its been a long time. Still got my gear tho.. maybe I'll gate crash a practice session.. who knows. lol

Play all you like! Just don't expect any respect for stupidly putting your sport before the plight of the 200,000 GCs who are denied access to their homes by this "trnc" you are so keen to befriend!

Geez O.... talk about a party pooper.
You do realize TC's are indigenous to Cyprus don't you?

Your little poster doesn't mention tc's, it mentions the turkish rupiblic of cyprus which is definitely NOT indigenous to this island.

Your boys in a word are fucked.

You show them, DT. :D

Whoever gave you permission to represent “Cyprus” or “Limassol” and you even had the audacity to claim in the Cyprus Mail article that “history is being made”?

What, a bunch of carpetbaggers in the occupied territory playing a bunch of irresponsible British fools from the unoccupied area are making history? What history… that of fools?

Are you registered with KOA?

http://online.netinfo.com.cy/koa_flat/e ... koa_2.shtm

At the very least you have breached Cyprus law by falsely representing Cyprus or a part of Cyprus, with the use of “Limassol” in your name.

I have passed on your clubs details so you should be hearing from them soon.

While even bigger 'British Fools' look on and criticise? In the case of O. Whose nationalism seems quite newly acquired.

I am still British enough that I can moan ...... and have not yet developed the "water-off-a-duck's-back" attitude of most Cypriots.
...
I am still in the midst of two cultures the British and the Cypriot both of which I love through familiarity.
...
I'm a bit of a chameleon and whilst in the UK everyone mistook me for a Brit ... English even.

Such a bleedin' hypocrite. 'Bit of a chameleon' is the understatement of the century!

Cap,

it's OK to make an error. This ICE Hockey tournament recognizes the "trnc" and has nothing to do with "building bridges". Cypriot Ice Hockey clubs should be registered under the auspices of KOA. Just about every sporting regulatory body around the world, does not recognize any sporting entity in the occupied area of Cyprus, and this "Cypriot Ice Hockey club" is doing the exact opposite thus offering de facto recognition to the partition of Cyprus.

I take it that you are young, and a little naive about the implications of this tournament. GCs do in fact participate in many bicommunal initiatives with the TCs. This Ice Hockey tournament has gone beyond that.

You won't see a Cypriot Rugby side behaving in this manner.

By all means, let Ice Hockey develop as an official sport under the auspices of KOA. But the sport has made a very grave error and gone about things the wrong way.

You are such bore and the hypocrite. Even after O displays the good sense in ignoring your lunacy and derailment tactics by your persistent trolling, you continue to insist on making a fool of yourself as if your opinion as a non Cypriot outsider counts for anything.

Get a life!

Thanks Paphitis. A rational, logical manner of explanation is all it takes sometimes. I appreciate this post.
Meanwhile we'll just have to wait for KOA and hopefully the sport develops.
