We did drive through your village, last year, and couldn't believe the amount of almond blossom. It really is a stunning village. But I want rural, rural, rural ... and above all ... rural! (Read isolated/secluded)

The nearest quarries are the now defunct Asbestos mines at Amiantos about 10k away

well its not totally isolated but there are less than 100 permanent residents - and dropping each year. Cant wait till we're there pemanent - i may even become the first non cypriot mukhtar

They are foresting that up, aren't they? Did it deter you from buying? Was it something you considered? Cyprus seems to have a lot of mines/quarries when you start to Google!

I don't mind too much, if it keeps people away ... but hubby is thinking long term (damn)
