Christopher's latest scummy, little racist hit piece in Slate today How me telling women what they can and cannot wear is in fact liberation for said women Is more full of holes than a Gorgonzola cheese that someone has , for some reason, punched a million more holes into.

One bit did stand out though. One reason Muslim women in France must live up to a dress code dictated by a fat middle aged white man is that their choice of clothing may be,

Yes, Australia needs to liberate women as well.

Where is Corrie Bernadi when you need him? We need to ban the Burqa! It has no plce in Australia!

Okey,I promise this is the last one on Hitch....Unless of course The Bitch who thinks Hitchens is a true journalist and a humanitarian lifts his ugly mug again...

For a feel of Hitchens on theology, on the other hand (Islamic this time) one has to imagine someone attempting to hold forth on quantum mechanics whose only knowledge of the subject is a black and white picture they once saw of Richard Feynman. It would go far too far, and yet not far enough, to describe Hitchens as being 'ignorant' about Islam. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant about something. And genuine ignorance is easily remedied. Hitchens' ignorance, on the other hand, is willed. Moreover, it's not quite ignorance either. 'A little knowledge is a dangerous thing'. Hitchens knows just enough to persuade the gullible that he is an 'expert' on Islam, but he does not and cannot have anything worth saying on the subect, because his emotions kick in before his intellect is fully engaged. Hitchens, despite the fact that he can barely define it, really really really really really hates 'Islamism'. And everything he says about the subject is orientated to this position. He never wishes to explain. His ambition is always: 'how can I make this system of belief sound worse? How can I portray its adherents in the worst possible light? How can I use inflammatory language to stir up the same hate and rage in my readers that I feel constantly as I think of these issues?'

OOOps...I spoke too soon...The bitch has raised his ugly head....
So one more post about the great Hitch....And I will stop there...You all know where to go now to watch the antics of this prized idiot....

In his recent slimy, cheap, underhand, mean-spirited and thuggish attack on the character and reputation — his usual MO, in fact — of Gore Vidal in Vanity Fair, Christopher accused his former spiritual master of deciding “to go slumming again and to indulge the lowest in himself and in his followers”. Yes, I suppose that’s one way of putting it. He then reels off a list of some of Gore’s latest outbursts as reported by Johann Hari that he obviously thinks seal the argument but which I feel show that Gore, at eighty-five, wheelchair-bound, infirm, with none of his internal organs firing on all cylinders, and within a few short years of making his final exit with the cause of death put down to “extreme old age” on the certificate, is still splendidly in touch with the real world — as opposed to the “we make our own reality; we’re an empire now” post-9-11 Disneyland inhabited by Christopher and his fellow Mouseketeers. Scan the list and you’ll see what I mean.

The guy is absolutely brilliant. I love his novels and his Journalistic works!

I can find some hysterically critical junk sites about Richard Dawkins as well, but this does not change the fact that both these chaps are absolutely brilliant and an inspiration to us all.

No, I must insist!

Christopher Hitchens is great in my view!

Now what?

Let me guess! I must be silly because certain others don't agree!

Lest we forget the enduring relationship between Turkey and Israel :

In the light of the killing of nine of its citizens on the Mavi Marmara last week, it is sad to read in your editorial (5 June) that the Turkish deputy prime minister has insisted that defence contracts with Israel would be honoured. Over the last five years Turkey has paid $1.5bn to Israeli arms companies to upgrade its F-4 and F-5 fighter aircraft and M60 battle tanks, and to supply 10 new Heron UAVs (drones), battle-tested in the war on Gaza. Some things never change.

Wow, Turkey did not abstain...it actually voted NO concerning UN sanctions on Iran. Plenty of the print media are quite critical of Turkey today:

Turkey's Vote

It is a blessing that Turkey is on the United Nations Security Council. For the first several years of Erdogan's premiership, Turkish diplomats tried to be all things to all people, and, as so often happens with American diplomacy, we were willing to accept insincere Turkish statements in closed doors rather than listen to what the Turkish leadership was saying publicly. Today, Turkey decided definitively to side with Iran.

I am reminded of 1990, when Yemen represented the Middle East on the Security Council and did not vote to condemn Saddam's invasion of Kuwait. It is a vote that Yemen watchers still remember, 20 years later. Turkey's vote today is similar.

A question for Obama and Secretary of Defense Gates: Given Turkey's slide toward Iran, are you really willing to sell the Joint Strike Fighter to Ankara? Do you really want to supply that technology to a country, albeit for now a NATO member, where the government might simply transfer the technology to adversaries that seek to kill Americans?
