As this is a Cyprus Forum, I naturally suggested a Cypriot-owned place, serving Cypriot food and, what's more, also with a neutral English name referring to a tree which commonly grows in Cyprus...
Carob tree
A blackboard above the counter highlights the day's fresh fish for cooking on the chargrill, but in contrast to the modish decor, the printed menu is largely based on familiar Cypriot dishes.

You, on the other hand, suggest a Turkish place, with a Turkish name, serving food from Turkey.
Ocakbashi
Simply the best Turkish Ocak Basi Restaurant in East London!
In Turkey ocakbasi restaurants are where people eat when they're out, as opposed to places to go out to eat at.

I have no objection to Turkish food or restaurants, but, given the sensitivities, your suggestion still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Having never been to Turkey I would not know, but the one in West Kensington I go to is dead posh and cost 20/head without drinks plus soft chairs.
This ain't Nottingham you know, as to bitter taste do not eat the peeper that they serve with the meal.
No then Fred there's nowt wrong with Nottingham!!!
I don't mind where we meet at personally.
I've never had authentic Turkish cuisine before so I'd go for that if decided.
Maybe we should have a poll from members attending as to the venue from the 2 suggestions. ( or it might be easier to say, email Jerry so as to avoid non diners trying to rig the poll)

No need, the second suggestion has been withdrawn.
That's very honourable,
