What are you confused about Deniz?

I know the Carob Tree was suggested, but was not aware that it was agreed upon. I expected others to come up with suggestions too. Esp Miltiades.

Its ok though no problem.

Where can I tie up my donkey? Are there spaces for parking?

Carob Tree was suggested and nobody has come up with an alternative so I assumed that it was acceptable. Mal has tried it and the reviews on Tripadvisor http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant ... gland.html seem quite good too but if you or Milti or anyone can come up with another suitable venue then we could try that instead.

I have made enquiries at Carob Tree about parking, apparently it's not a residents only zone so you can park in the street if there is space. We could eat outside in the garden weather permitting. We would need to make a reservation a few weeks in advance.

Thats fine Jerry. Lets hope whats his name gives us details for parking. I suppose some will drive. I dont drink so I am ok.

I have just acquired the Corleone mentality. When refused the first time, I will not ask the second.

It's best Med food you can find. It's the only restaurants I see that are full of people with ques outside to get in. You can't get in without booking. Good quality food and plenty of it.

As this is a Cyprus Forum, I naturally suggested a Cypriot-owned place, serving Cypriot food and, what's more, also with a neutral English name referring to a tree which commonly grows in Cyprus...

Carob tree
A blackboard above the counter highlights the day's fresh fish for cooking on the chargrill, but in contrast to the modish decor, the printed menu is largely based on familiar Cypriot dishes.

You, on the other hand, suggest a Turkish place, with a Turkish name, serving food from Turkey.

Ocakbashi
Simply the best Turkish Ocak Basi Restaurant in East London!

In Turkey ocakbasi restaurants are where people eat when they're out, as opposed to places to go out to eat at.

I have no objection to Turkish food or restaurants, but, given the sensitivities, your suggestion still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

One bad apple is all we needed. If this is going to be a political issue why bother?

Well we have a couple of choices, as I see it. We could vote on either of the two suggested restaurants or we could seek an alternative "neutral" venue.

Having never been to Turkey I would not know, but the one in West Kensington I go to is dead posh and cost 20/head without drinks plus soft chairs.

This ain't Nottingham you know, as to bitter taste do not eat the peeper that they serve with the meal.
