It is clear that DISY would accept whatever the Americans proposed, while AKEL would do whatever the Soviets ordered.

That is absolutely rubbish and it shows your limitations Piratis. As early as 1964 AKEL said no to the Soviet proposal for federation when the issue was raised by Gromyko at the security Council. You also suggest that DISY will do anything America says because this complies with your stereotype. Hard luck the world is more complex than what you think.
