Remember that you used similar language to me.

Why is it that people with differing ideas are idiots. If we all thought the same it would be a boring world and we would not be human.

Now calm down. You both have valid points , now try to find where the middle ground is rather than showering the place with 'niceties'.

But he has nothing concrete to say just a load of bullshit "Cypriotism" crap no one buys its. Its just to little to late should have thought about that back in 1960.

The 1960 constitution was designed mainly by outside powers with NO reference to "Cypriots." The aim was to get rid of Cyprus as a colony as quickly as possible so that Britain could focus attention elsewhere.

The constitution talks of Greeks and Turks.

Cypriotism is a reaction to the mistakes of the past not part of it. It was born out of the failures of Greek / Turkish nationalism to convince all the Cypriots. Cypriots as I have said are not happy with the status quo, more and more are identifying themselves as "Cypriots" now.

You need to join the mainstream.

Why? nothing you have said is new its what Bir and Miltiades tried to peddle years ago but they soon came down to earth with a thud understanding that not only was their ideals utopian but also very very dangerous.

Omer has some very valid points. In fact the interaction between the two communities has been going on for years. It was in effect Ozgurs work which delivered the yes vote but unfortunately our GC cousins did not have such a man. Actually I had a discussion on this very point about the vote to unify in early 2003 and a reporter friend of mine and he predicted the the GCs will not be ready for the vote because they were not prepared. How right he was.

There will be many viewpoints flouted around , some good and some bad; We must take notice and have sensible debate.

If the GCs did not feel that they were ready, it is obvious that a large number of TCs arent ready either. But with the change of the demographics, will it make much difference?

No Deniz we were ready and voted yes for peace. Demographics don't come into it. All TCs will vote for peace. I do not believe it will make any difference to the vote. If they are 800,000 and probably have 150,000 foreigners, why should they worry about the demographics of the north. If they have any sense they will accept as is and move on or lose all 37.5%. Sooner or later they will realise that the north will determine their own fate will north allow them to determine anything. If Turkish views are taken in to account so what? They have enough Greeks down south. They drove us out of Cyprus, they should have thought of that before hand.

The trouble is they want to put the clock back and the battery in the time machine has gone flat. I am recharging it.

Right now, this is what is preoccupying my mind. Do you think she knows where Cyprus is? How many points did we give Germany?

You can support what they hell you want but you have to put forward conrete steps of how to achieve your goal, but you have done absolutely nothing just a load of utopian day dreaming.

10 points Yes I believe she was friendly with the Welsh guy the GCs sent. and even the whole Manga group that came in second to her.

Why would I give you a step by step guide to my goal? You are a Turk wannabee and collaborating traitor. I would only share that with other Cypriots whom I trust. But we'll deal you when Cyprus is reunified that you can be sure.

Here are Lena's lyrics (according to Gasman, who seems to have an ear for these things). You can see why the saucy Mädchen won...

"Love, my anus straight and true
Cupid’s arrow is just for you
I even painted my toe nails for you
I did it just the other day."

You're right. If you were less moronic, you'd be less of a wouldbe Turk.

Hey I am a Turk as in Turkish Cypriot so no wouldbe about it.

Turk and Turkish Cypriot are not synonymous. Is French Canadian synonymous with French? Is Hispanic American synonymous with Spanish?

Where do your original roots come from if not Turkey?

VP there is quite a few Turkish Cypriots that may not originate from Turkey. It's not a crime. It does not matter where the TC comes from. What matters is that Cyprus is in their heart and they want what 's best for Cyprus.

The problem we have is not that Turkey interferes with Cyprus. There are bigger powers like US that tell Turkey what to do too. It is not easy to break away from these shackles. Makarios tried it and see where it got him. I see GC buying russian arms are not going to thrill our US friends. But if we tread carefully we can dictate the terms as much as possible. We can use EU too to try and get our way. What is being discussed right now is what it will be. The next generation may decide to get a closer union. They will determine that not us.

You Essek, very few Turkish speaking Cypriots can prove a direct origin in Turkey. It was not even Turkey back in the 16th - 19th century when the majority of Muslims arrived. It was Ottoman Empire Anatolia.

Most Turkish speaking Cypriots are of mixed heritage. Usually: Turkish (both Sunni and Alevi), Karamanlis, Greek, Arab (usually Egyptian), Sudanese (Nubian), Palestinian, Armenian and Maronite not to mention Latin, Romani, Kurdish (Alevi mostly), Alawaite, Jewish (from Safed), Janisseries (usually Macedonian, Serbian or Croat), Circassian, Albanian and Bosnian.

Its a pity, you've obviously never read our history.
