How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

No Deniz. It's a matter of principle. If they want me to read Greek, they will have to use Latin characters, otherwise I Become Geoffrey all over.

You can't swim against the tide all your life. Look what Ataturk did to the Turkish Language. The Greeks are about a thousand years behind the times.

I hope Oracle does not read this otherwise my goose is cooked. Thinkin about that where is that lunch?

When Ataturk got rid of the Arabic script, he had a sensible argument. A word would have three different meanings, depending on whether it was a pure Turkish word, Arabic or Farsi; add to that borrowed European words too. It would cause havoc in anyones education. Even if you read Atatürk's Büyük Nutuk in its original language, you would not have understood a fraction of it.

I doubt if it is on U-tube, but I had an edition using the Latin alphabet for the first time. The one we are more familiar with is much more simplified for the average Turk to understand.
People like Runaway would not have a clue. When I get in the loft, soon I hope, I will scan a few pages.
