for 'trafficking human bones'

Poor sod was probably just trying to be entrepreneurial and make a few bob in these days of Austerity Measures in Greece. I bet he fully intended to declare any profit and pay tax on it.

Dem bones, dem bones!

Fancy living with that lot in your house?

Mind you - if there were no people daft enough to part with money for a load of old bones.

Sort of proves that the priest himself doesn't really believe all that mumbo jumbo.

Well I was wondering WHERE he got them?

In another report of the incident it says:

which they had tried to pass off as religious relics.

Police arrested the Swiss man at Thessaloniki Airport after finding dozens of human bones, three skulls and a silver feretory, or relic receptacle, in his luggage. The bones and skulls had been doused with scent and labeled with the names of various saints. According to police, the Swiss man had been due to fly to Germany and deliver the bones to a representative of the Russian Orthodox Church there, pretending that they were the remains of Orthodox saints.

Unless they know where they did get them, how can they be sure they are NOT the remains of 'saints'?

All very macabre!

Must admit I laughed when I read that the Swiss accomplice had doused them in perfume before putting them in his luggage lol!
