I don't personally no! But the police gave him the name and telephone number of the mafia guy (saying 'we never gave you this' wink wink).
My neighbour said he didn't care if he only got 50% of what was owed him back - he was leaving Cyprus very soon.
He was employed by someone who just stopped paying wages - saying there was no money but if they kept working, he would pay them eventually. (Yeah right).
The guy was not prepared to work for nothing for more than the 3 months he had already, could not find another job, was not entitled to any unemployment benefits as he was still technically 'employed' apparently (the employer refused to make any of them officially redundant and I think he hadn't been paying the 'insurance' or whatever) he went to the Police out of desperation and frustration to see if he had any legal redress.
He is a Polish guy, lived here for years with his wife and baby - nice people - his wife worked here too but didn't earn enough to keep them all.
