Cinema, theater, music etc.

As long as there's SUN & SEA, there will always be Tourism in Cyprus, its just the Night Life that needs to sort its self out, theres two extreme spectrums, the upper and complete lower class - there is no in between when it comes to the Nightlife scene.

actually that is not 100% true. tourism isnt dying in cyprus. i tried to book a room in a hotel in napa and they are all booked out. i tried to book a hotel in limassol for a client and the best ones are also all booked out. so if the hotels are packed then why are the tourists not coming out? i wonder where they're hiding???

Hi CrazY_ChicK and welcome to the forum.

I was in Ayia Napa last week and someone told me that the hotels have started giving cheap full board prices all year round so people are staying in the hotels all day and all night as there is no reason for them to leave, they eat three times and day there and offered entertainment for the whole family!!!
Does nt really give the other smaller businesses even a small chance to survive!!

You know guys why the tourists are not coming to Cyprus this year as they used to come in the previous years.
Let me tell you the situation in Limassol one of the main towns of Cyprus and tourist’s attraction place as said.
Have you guys seen the Limassol tourist (beach) road in summers?
It takes hell lot of time just to drive a few meters. The roads are not wide and on the top of that people park their vehicles on the left sides of the roads. The public transport is like nothing, you have to have your own vehicles if you want to roam in the town. Otherwise rent a taxi and pay a lot of money for nothing. Sometimes I get confused if I am talking to a taxi driver or a pimp
And about the shops and supermarkets I find them almost always "closed” People are always on Holidays here
They work half day on Wednesdays and half day on Saturdays and on Sundays they don’t work at all   ...And the rest four days the work timings are from 10am-5pm...The last option if you want to buy some stuff in evening to buy from 24 hour kiosks at double rates.
and about the restaurants and the hotel they are very expensive and they are not worth...Can you believe a coffee cost around 2 or 3 cyp which means 7 USD It took me 3 days to find an internet cafe when I came to cyprus. Most of the people here can’t even understand English...speaking is very far
It is not anyone's fault, actually people here just want to earn for the whole year in 2 or 3 months of summer. They try their best to take out all the money from tourist's pockets by hook or by crook.
Yes, you are very much right coredump there are many other better places for tourists to go. At least you will find people there to know about the rest of the world not like here to know just about bars and pubs...This year only the tourists are very less as compare to the previous years...
If Cyprus wants to attract tourists in future they have to make good infrastructure, learn the word Hospitality and should educate the youngsters for future.

A top night out at rumours just wouldnt be the same without a sandwich afterwards!

i know im entering this discussion late, but i totally agree with you...man i loved that place. best sandwiches EVER!!
i was shocked when i saw rumours this year...it looks nice but just hasnt got the same feel of the old place. we used to get shakers in there every night!!
at least the musics still good...Stefs a good DJ. and wtf is up with all the reserved signs??!! was it like that in july/august?? that would never have worked back in the day...

limassols changed though alot...dunno for the better or not. there are a lot of people just standing round lookin pretty and not havin a good time!!

people need to chill out more!! my 2pence worth...

Unfortunately, as Cy and its population becomes richer, nightlife-wise its becoming more and more superficial..... used to be so fun just going out without a care in the world, now its becoming more and more like Switzerland, where as you said saravakos, its more important to stand around lookin as best as you can to try and be above..... whilst not as many ppl having fun. Not like that everywhere, but its getting there....

Ive stopped going out in the main tourist area cos I find it complete crap these days, instead i stick to a couple of random english bars and some place in Akrotiri forget the name.... not as fun as the old tourist area, but eh, s'all thas left...

If you like the high-class snooty stuff you can checkout Sesto Senso which seems really popular, privelege and the like..

enjoy
