I hate to say this, but...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I hate to say this, but...

Postby rastan » Sat May 22, 2010 4:58 am

After previously asking on this forum about the possibility of my family having a holiday in Cyprus, one week in the south & one week in the north (I'm English & have no bias towards greek or turkish cypriots), I have decided to spend 2 weeks in the TRNC, several greek cypriots were so rude towards me & also the turkish cypriots were standing up for me....so I must say that I will spend my holiday pounds in the TRNC. Take note greek cypriots, your economy is not good, you need every tourist pound that you can get, if you start to behave like your turkish cypriot brothers & sisters then you may attract tourists like me!

Are you sure you were in Cyprus for holiday and not looking for a halfway house?

I hate to say this, but, you are another full of bullshit carpetbagger.

I haven't been here for ages, sorry, I'm very glad that at least some of you gc's and tc's are thinking about making friends with each other! Here in the UK gc's & tc's are generally very good friends, why can't you be the same in Cyprus? Seems strange to me considering that there are more Cypriots living in the UK than there are living in the whole of Cyprus! Before anyone starts slagging me off (no doubt they will), I'm English/Scottish, I stayed in the TRNC for 2 weeks holiday, I also visited the south and I love Cyprus, I take no sides, I think the Turkish Cypriots are lovely people & I also think the Greek Cypriots are equally lovely people!

Rastan, you are childish really. You have allowed a few people to cloud your judgment and now you "threaten" people that they will never see your tourist money. This is very childish indeed. You should have stuck to your original plan and enjoy both sides of heaven. By the way, I'd much rather not see tourists who come here thinking they are doing the place a favour. We really don't need the pounds of these people, we are not beggars rastan and since Cypriots are also tourists themselves (perhaps more so than the English) even you can understand that this is a reciprocal thing that simply facilitates the circulation of money and that is good for the economy, aint' it?

Great post Bananiot.

I enjoyed it because it hits the spot quite nicely.

Rastan, we don't need your money or want to see you in Cyprus ever again. Go to France instead!

An embarrassing post Rastan, seriously.
France is the kingdom of rudeness, but France averages 80 million tourists a year making it the MOST popular destination in the world.
If every tourist had to cancel their plans due to a couple of 'rude' locals, tourism would cease to exist globally.

You must understand that the opinon of some GCs on this forum is not representative on the ground. "Empty bottle makes more noise than a full one" is so true when it comes to our GC patriotic firends. It would be a shame to come all the way to cyprus and not cross the line, if for nothing else, just to prove to yourself that our patriotic GC cousins are talking out of their backside and how their complaints are not justified.

However enjoy your stay in TRNC.
