I know I attended a Turkish Cypriot wedding a few months ago here in England & there were many Greek Cypriots that were also in attendance & were good friends of either the bride or groom.....seems to me that all Cypriots are pretty much with each other here in England...the one thing that Greek & Turkish Cypriots agree on is that they don't trust politicians!
I'm English, I have no bias towards Greeks or Turks - I love ALL Cypriots, they all treated myself and my family so well when I was in Cyprus - YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD TO BE CYPRIOTS, YOU HAVE THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD...FORGET GREECE, FORGET TURKEY....YOU ARE CYPRUS, YOU ARE THE BEST! Cyprus does not belong to Greece or Turkey, you are Cyprus and you should should be proud to be Cypriots!
Good to hear encouraging words from independent observers,rastan...Thanks for your comments, and for your interest in our homeland...One of these days we will realise how badly we have treated our beloved Cyprus, and how badly we have treated each other...Then we will put aside all the silly excuses, assume responsibility for our own actions in the past, develop empathy and compassion for each other, and find a solution which will take us forward towards becoming one proud and happy nation of Cypriots...
kick it off by apologising then...
I have never beeen backward in coming forward with my apologies,DT...
Here it is again:
I would like to personally apologise to all those innocent Cypriot brothers and sisters who who were killed, injured,or otherwise traumatised by the actions of the Turkish Army during the July-August,1974 operations...I feel special empathy and compasson for the innocent children whose lives were turned upside down, their childhood ruined and stolen by the mindless civil war and the subsequent armed Turkish intervention which has turned into a long occupation...for the part the Turkish Cypriots and the Turkish Army played in this sorry saga, I am deeply sorry...
I too repeat what Bir said above and wish all TCs, Turks do the same wholeheartedly...
Besides, I appologize for all the wrongs and mistakes of my ancestors/members of my community had done to people of Cyprus throughout their rule, later during the British rule and afterwards 1960.
Me too .
beside same respect i accept from GC's too.
