I hate to say this, but...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You have thus highlighted the Cyprus tragedy,rastan...Non-Cypriots appreciate and enjoy our country more than we do...We simply wanted to give our country away to Greece, and that made some of us want to unite with Turkey as a desperate measure to maintain some self rule, and that resulted in thousands of deaths and tens of thousands of people going into exile, and over 200 thousand becoming refugees in their own country...And what is our answer to all that??? Still blaming the other and trying to even the score...Cypriots do not deserve Cyprus. Given the latest comments and theads on this Forum, I think we should invite Israel to come and rule Cyprus with their iron fist...Only then there will be some hope for our country... :(

Since when have the Turkish policemen, not Tc, been maning the posts at the Green line, I recently passed through and had to speak to one of them, since I had a traffic ticket in the occuppied areas, they wore different uniforms then the people maning the regular posts, and wearing a side pistol, none of them spoke english and needed a Tc to translate.

The people behind the desks checking passports are not all policemen. Some of them are civilian support staff hired for the job and they wear a different uniform than the cops. The cops are not all TCs and even those that are do not necessarily speak good or even any English. Unfortunately, many TCs are now leaving school/college with little English language skills. There was a time when a GC would have to speak English to a TC, and vice-versa, in order to communicate. Sad to say that the drifting apart that has taken place since 1974 now means that even that option is going.

And there was a time, before 1964,that most TCs spoke perfect Cypro-Greek and most GCs spoke some Cypro-Turkish...They didn't need any other language to understand each other perfectly... :(
