Who started the inter-communal conflict

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Sat May 22, 2010 3:21 pm

The fact, which nobody apparently is able to dispute, is that TCs initiated the inter-communal conflict.

Apparently for them the way to get what they want is to burn down the homes and shops of innocent people and massacure others.

The excuses why they did this are all imaginary theories. The TC minority was not in any danger from us until they decided to collaborate with the colonialists and attack us. Show me even a single statement of Makarios, Grivas or any Greek or GC official before 1957 that would identify the TCs as a target. You will not find any. There was no enmity, no hate, absolutely nothing against the TCs back then. It is the Turks who decided to annihilate the majority of the Cypriot population from half of Cyprus with their partition plan of 1957, and it the TCs who attacked us starting the inter-communal conflict (part of the partition plan) in 1958. Only after the TCs became the enemy in the eyes of the majority of Cypriots.

So now whenever you talk about the inter-communal conflict remember that it is the TCs who started it and that this conflict was part of their partition plan. You wanted to have a conflict because you wanted to use it as an excuse for your partition plan.

Well, your lame excuse is not accepted. The Turks should apologize for the inter-communal conflict and the Turkish invasion of 1974. Both the conflict and the war were part of the Turkish partition plan created in 1957 and the masterminds of this partition plan are the ones who have the main responsibility for the casualties and suffering of all Cypriots from 1958 until 2010.

Hello Piratis the moment you people dreamt of enosis was the day you placed us in danger and we had to fight back...get this into your head. You just casually stating we were not in danger does not cut it no one believes this bullshit, threatening us with becoming part of Greece was not where we wanted to take our future, your enosis turned us into instantly into your enemies thats why we the underdogs sided with the only force protector we knew the Brits.

How on earth are we going to solve the Cyprus problem when the forum facsists insist on perpetuating the hatred of the past by gratuitously starting threads like this. Both sides were used and manipulated by forces outside the island during the last century - that is the root cause, not the actions of a few Cypriots. How can we ever expect Turkey to leave Cyprus when we keep telling them how much we hate the Turkish Cypriots. Threads like this, and the attitudes of arseholes who support them, will keep the metmechik here forever.

What do you suggest Jerry, we bow to their every request, bend on demand, or just shut up and do as we are told because the turks want it all their way?

Come on do tell us, how to be good little boys and girls and behave because the big bad turk is not happy with us.

They came to Cyprus FFS, they stole, pillaged, raped, and murdered us. And you and the likes of you want us to just STFU and let them get on with it??

I thought you were one of the good guys, you are starting to sound like Banana every day.

What pissis me off the most that all the TCs all pull in the same direction, bravo to them, on this issue where as the F GCs are all trying to score brownie points against their own.

Arseholes, we should be unitied in this struggle not F our fellow GC, we have others we need to be dealing with.

Capish!

You completely miss my point B25. Why does Piratis feel the need to start a thread "who started it". I don't disagree with much of what he said; I question his motives for digging up the past and adding fuel to the fire. How on earth do you expect us to come to terms with the TCs with attitudes like his?

We always end up playing “you started it ping pong” as recent posts demonstrate and it gets us nowhere. We have to accept that we will never persuade the other side to agree to our version of history and move on.

You know very well that the current impasse on the island is the fault of Turkey, not the majority of Turkish Cypriots, the blinkered fascists on CF are so blinded by hatred and anger they are unable to see the difference between the two.

Jerry, in order to "dig up" something, that something should first be buried.

Have a look in any Cyprus Problem thread and there you will find somebody claiming that everything they did in 74 and all the demands they have today can supposedly be justified because of the inter-communal conflict which according to them GCs are responsible for.

I simply wanted to set the record straight about who is really responsible for the inter-communal conflict.

Whenever those people try to lie and blame the GCs for the inter-communal conflict, trying in this way to excuse yet more crimes against us, you should give them a link to this thread, ask from them to cut the crap and the excuses, and to concentrate on the future and to how we can have in Cyprus what they have in all other democratic countries.

This again proves it was the GCs who started using violence firstly against the Brits then the Turkish Cypriots. The commentator clearly stating the violence between Greeks and Turks started well before 1958 which Piratis claims wrongly was the start in order to convince others that it was the minority who threatened the majority who wanted to gift Cyprus to Greece.

1) That union with Greece would put you in danger is just some imaginary theory that you created to excuse your crimes. There is no evidence that anything would happen to you. On the contrary union with Greece was a 100% legitimate demand and the Cypriot people did nothing wrong in asking for their rights.

2) Even before 1958 TCs had already joined the British as missionaries fighting against EOKA. But in 1958 you targeted the whole GC population, indiscriminately burning down shops and homes and murdering people. This was not an act against enosis, this was an act against the whole GC population and the aim was to initiate an inter-communal conflict. The broadcasts from Turkey calling TCs to murder GCs and start a civil war say it all.

 Where in the video does it say that it was the GCs who started using violence against TCs?? Maybe you saw that part in your dream?

The GCs were fighting against the British since 1955 for the freedom of Cyprus from Colonialism. And as I said already the British tried to initiate the inter-communal conflict even before 1958, by hiring TC missionaries to fight against EOKA. But their plan didn't work as well as expected, so Turkey had to incite the TCs to attack the general GC population, and not just EOKA.

Hello Piratis the moment you people dreamt of enosis was the day you placed us in danger and we had to fight back

Or maybe this is what you refer as "fighting back" the moment we dreamed of enosis:

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

Piratis you just claiming nothing would happen to TCs if we allowed you to gift Cyprus is Greece is not good enough and no one believes your ridiculous statements, we did not want to become a Greek island and all the dangers it would imcorporate we had every right to fight for survival.

Of course we joined forces with the Brits how else were we supposed to fight against you gifting Cyprus to Greece something we obviously did not want and saw as our death warrant.

Its clearly states that there was fighting between Turks and Greeks in 1956 well before your claimed 1958 this blows the myth you are trying to peddle that TCs started all the troubles in 1958. You are right it does not say who started it in 1956 but more importantly reveals that you are a liar and would stop at nothing to lay the blame on the other side without taking full responsiblity for the enosis dream being the cause of division we have today.

1955 and formation of eoka the terrorist organisation whos only goal was to gift Cyprus to Greece even if it meant going via independence.
