I owe you a drink, mate!
SpartanGamer,
Antivirus, malware removal applications etc are nice but eventually unwanted "stuff"get embedded into your system, traces of them wondering about in the registry & hard drives...
What can be done?
Well, every 2 years, I back-up my data and re-install the operating system, re-formatting the hard drive at the same time. While a "fresh" copy of the operating system is installed, all the unwanted stuff are erased permanently. Your speed increases, your computer is crystal clean. Install Norton again and get a registry cleaner (registry mechanic for example) to fine tune for best performance. Scan all your stored data prior to re-loading them into your computer.
Additionally, install a .bat file which allows you to change your IP address at will for better internet connections.
The whole procedure takes approx 6 hours depending on your system.
Some computer skills are required to perform the above...
