And why should we go along with this, since anything that the turks propose has got to be in their own best interest.

Why after 36 years do they now want to bring in Greece and the UK when we have been battling to get away from them???

Is it a face saving exercise maybe???

So many quations, need to understand this Turkish mentality!

Cheers

Which cell are you using today, number one or number two. Don't forget the toilet paper before you go in.

Well we know Turkey is going to take some toilet paper to sign any agreement or accord so it can readily flush it down the toilet at a later date.

Its time Turkey realised that it's part of the problem and not the solution and bringing these old colonial powers together indicates its backward and early 20th century mentality.

This sends all the wrong signals and must leave the Cypriots to sort this out without external interference.

If I was 80% majority I could say the same thing, but I wouldn't on account that I know it would be insulting the minority's intelligence. But then again we are use to bullets never mind insults.

Well its evident that Turkey does not believe the minority has the intelligence to sort it, otherwise it would just leave it to them without pulling its strings.

You seem to confuse the two issues involved. The TC intersts are one thing, The Turkish Interests are another. When you agree with the Turks how to share the resouces in the med like you have with all the other med countries, then the problem will be solved. While you are saying it is all mine then the problem remains. A Fly is telling the Elephant to move from its space. It is living very dangerously, in my humble opinion, if I may be allowed to express it with your and Kickapoo's permision of course. I know it would be granted so I have. There.

There can be only one reason, Erdogan wants a solution by the end of 2010.

WIN THE UPCOMING JULY 2011 ELECTIONS IN TURKEY.

Solving Cyprob would give him a boost. Something to show for. Progress internationally. Cyprob is the tool "used" to campain, starting early Jan 2011.

Turkey’s ruling AK Party would win a clear majority if general elections due next year were held today, an opinion poll showed on Friday.

Strains between Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan’s government and the secular establishment have fuelled speculation that elections set for July 2011 could be brought forward, although Erdogan has repeatedly denied any such plans.

Investors would favour a strong AK Party government, fearing a coalition government would bring instability. The pro-business AK Party will seek a third term in power. The poll, conducted by the Konsensus polling firm for Haberturk daily, showed the AK Party with 39.6 percent of the vote. In the last election in 2007, the AK Party, which was first elected in 2002, won 46.6 percent of the vote.

The main opposition secularist CHP is seen at 23.1 percent and the nationalist MHP at 16.5 pct, the Konsensus poll showed.

The survey was taken Feb 24-March 4, after an unprecedented crackdown on the military in which nearly 70 people including former heads of the air force and navy were arrested in a probe into an alleged anti-government conspiracy.

The AK Party has also clashed with conservative judges, and has threatened to call a referendum to curb their powers.
