(for your welcomes that is) although I cannot ally myself to your seeming aversion to the Greeks (or Spartans) since the pages of history are littered with accounts of great deeds of valour by both of the aforementioned.
No doubt (if you be allied to the Turks) you may be able to regale us with tales of 'Sinbad the Sailor' or 'Ali Baba and his forty thieves' together with other 'pointed toe shod heroes' who robbed and plundered the weak and defenceless to satisfy their bloodlust.
Old habits die hard..... it would appear that the Turks are still at it (by all accounts).
Did I say welcome?
I will give you a second chance to redeem yourself (after those accusations) with us lovely Turkish speaking Cypriots. In Cyprus there are two sides to the coin. I support neither the Turkish neither the Greek point of view. I am Cypriot a Turkish speasking Cypriot and I support what is best for all of Cyprus. You cannot brush everybody with the 'brain-washed' brush you used above.
There is a vast difference between a Turkish speaking Cypriot and a Turk, unfortunately (as with the comparisons between the Israeli and those of the Jewish faith) the general consensus of opinion voiced and held by those who are neither, invariably places each of those individuals who are, in the same mould.
Political manipulation of the masses ensures that disharmony takes hold and the end product is the certain destruction of a fellowship that was in existence for many years prior to such manipulation.
As to the relationship between the T/C and the G/C (unfortunate tags necessary to determine and emphasize the required differences in order to ensure that the disharmony continues) it is again unfortunate that most of those affected collectively affiliate themselves to those they feel they have the closer association with.............. perfectly understandable.
Meanwhile, the politicians have a field day whilst the general Cypriot community dwell in the rift created by the politicians whose only aim is to reach an agenda which only THEY are privy to.
So you see denizaksulu, I do make a distinction between differing parties and feel that the Turkish occupation of Cyprus is quite obviously the result of the political manipulations which preceded it.
I am sure that most native Cypriots would prefer to live in the manner which existed in the not too distant past, once again unfortunately, the powers that control would not like such a situation, thus, it is anybody's guess as to what the end result will be, I doubt if it will be the will of the Cypriot people.
Flippin 'eck. Another politician. An observation well put. I will have to agree with your sentiments.
I hope you will retain your eloquency after a few more posts and not revert to abuse which often happens.
Denizaksulu, I am particularly averse to the use of unaccepteble (in polite society) foul expressions, they serve no purpose other than to illustrate that those who rely on them in order to press a point are capable of neither expressing nor accepting fair criticism.
I would eat snake before I would allow myself to resort to the use of such expressions and would feel shame if ever I allowed myself to be exposed to such reproach that would be the result of such.
Incidentally, I HAVE eaten far less appetizing fare than snake in my time, I merely use the convenience of that particular adage to convince you of my sincerity on the subject of inappropriate language.
Kindly do not associate me with politicians, I am even more so averse to the scum that reside in THAT field of supposed endeavour.
My apologies re: the comparison to politicians. I hate all politician to be honest. I should have thought about the use of that phrase more carefully.
You writing style is commendable. A true rival for Oracles well written 'drivel'. I am not suggesting that you write drivel; on the contrary.
Bestest regards.
Deniz
Thank you for your kind compliments Denizaksulu, I have (as a result of seeing so many references to Oracle in such a short space of time) taken a little time to read through some of the contributions presented by the member in question.
There is no doubt in my mind that Oracle is a force to be reckoned with and (whether right or wrong) should be admired for the tenacity and fervour displayed in almost every post.
I personally would not consign Oracle's contributions to the waste bin, nor would I offer insult to the content of such posts nor the author of such.
Perhaps the fortitude displayed by Oracle in the face of great opposition should be considered an attribute rather than a deficiency, I certainly will not venture a criticism in league with popular trend to do so, such a stance smacks too well of bullying and I am sure there are enough examples of such behaviour on the world stage currently.
