Why does everyone want to enslave us?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Paphitis » Mon May 17, 2010 5:42 am

If Cypriot politicians were smart, they would develop alliances with countries that really matter and won't sell it out. Greece's stupidity will be very costly to Cyprus!

Israel is a much more worthy country, but the very word is so taboo. Such a shame, as it is the only country in the region which can give Erdogan the backhander of his life! And I bet they are looking for any excuse to trash Turkey's standing within NATO and its special status with the US as we speak.... and they have the influence to be able to do it as well.

Ditch Greece, the frogs, and Russia, and head straight for Jerusalem!

Israel also will switch sides to obtain the best protection - they played with Russia to get the US on board with their programme, they have flirted with the EU and also backed away from them, Turkey the same. Each country is out for itself - no exceptions. Love to see how you can draw parallels on the fundamentals, between the Israeli fence and new buildings compared with the desire by GCs to make one Federal country and stop TCs from building in the North.

Seems that for you the game is greater than the result, play politics, keep the career politicians in play with the average man footing the bill. For all the energies expended on crushing the TCs, much greater rewards can be found by finding viable solutions and beginning to repair the decades of mis-trust and animosity.
That people perceive this as a zero sum game (I have sometimes commented rather than win-win), actually should be better defined given there is major slippage on costs attribued to winning.

Mate, the TCs have crushed themselves. Everything in the last 36 years was self inflicted.

You don't need any help from us to destroy yourselves. You're doing a fine job of it as it is.

The only viable solution is True Democracy and Human Rights. If that is unattainable for the entire island then it is attainable for 63%, and that is all that matters!

No, I am a minimalist.

I want the minimum amount of injustice and violations against EQUALITY and HR!

If we are talking principles then you need to go for partition or confederation - else within the dogma of the Cyprus unification solution you are for all intent and purposes a maximalist for GCs and minimalist for TCs - a true maximalist politician as stated before.

No, I am a minimalist because I only support complete EQUALITY and will never compromise on these sound ethics and values.

You however are the maximalist, because you don't want this EQUALITY or True Democracy which is the island's only saviour.

If that is what you want, then it is up to Turkey to propose official partition and not the TCs. You guys don't matter any more!

Yes, we will have to agree to differ as I only want EQUALITY, True Democracy and HR! This is what we have now, in the Government controlled areas, and it is exhilarating! We can't compromise it, and it wouldn't be right.
