More positive comments for Turkish haters to ponder:

There are speculations that Erdoğan will be traveling to Athens with a “package deal” that includes many hot topics, such as reopening the Halki seminary, construction of a mosque in Athens, waiving visa requirement for short tourist trips by Turks to the Aegean islands, restrictions on military maneuvers in the Aegean and measures to cut defense spending and a joint reaffirmation of the two leaders to support a negotiated lasting settlement on Cyprus

What Turkey says and what Turkey does are two different things. Same goes for Greece too.

Papandreous doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Touching on the Cyprus issue, Papandreou said Turkey and Greece would have much closer ties if a lasting and a fair settlement was reached on the island.

Papandreou reiterated his country support for Turkey's membership in the European Union, adding that both the Turkish and the Greek people had a vision for living in peace.

The Greek premier said his government was working to hold Turkish visitors exempt from visa requirement for their stay in Greece for up to 24 hours.

Papandreou said Turkish and Greek people should overcome old fears and concerns about each other, which he said could be achieved through good neighborly relations.

No, No problem at all.

But I wish to correct you on your comment above.

You stated "Dedicated to all Turkish haters on this Forum...."

You are writing on a CYPRUS forum, the implication was there, you may not have uttered the words, but your intent was clear.

Hope that clears that up.

Cheers and have a nice day.

Shortly after his arrival in the capital, Erdogan insisted that the two-day visit "would have a different finale", offering hope of progress in political and economic matters. By mid-afternoon, he had not only officially raised the once unthinkable – a cut in arms spending on both sides – but had used the occasion to have an unprecedented 21 bilateral accords signed.

Still more positive news...... :)
