Piratis, you should be ashamed of yourself.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Gasman » Fri May 14, 2010 7:53 am

I don't like reading any of the posts where people's mothers, sisters or sexual preferences are insulted, but they are common on here.

I don't know any of the history of Piratis and Tim Drayton and I hope Tim D doesn't leave but I have to say, if this is the case, I agree with the sentiment expressed by Piratis here:

I have nothing to apologize since what I said didn't come out of the blue but was a result of constant insults and provocations that went on against me for days. I never attacked anybody unless I was attacked first.

But my dear Bir...HE IS THE ADMIN...have you people not figured that out yet?
cyprus-forum is his propaganda machine and all you TC's, wasting your breath here, day in day out are doing him a favour by playing this game by his rules..
Stop posting like i did, and leave him on his own with his fellow GC's..lets see how long CF will last then!!

I agree with u my Friend .... He is the ADMIN of this forum. I heard this allagation from more sources too.

It says that Svetlana is the moderator of the Cyprus Problem forum, not Piratis. I don't know of any moderators of discussion forums like this one who get paid for moderating. They do it in their own time and it's a thankless task. There are professional moderators (LiveWorld is one) but I doubt a little used forum like this one would have money to pay for their expensive services.

I don't think ADULTS should need to resort to 'running to the mods' to settle their differences with other posters on discussion forums anyway - it really does smack of 'I'm telling the teacher of you' - they have the choice to respond, ignore, or even not use the forum at all.

I doubt some of those who often call on the mods would like it if they had the sort of strict moderation of obscenities, personal insults, racist and sexist postings that other sites have - for some posters that would mean that NONE of their posts ever appeared - they'd all be deleted by the moderators as soon as they posted, or *****'d out by a robotic obscenity censor until they made no sense at all (or even less sense than they do left uncensored!)

I assume the mods know a bit of the history of both sides when battles rage and apply common sense to the amount of leeway they give those involved.

I must say, I do find it slightly bemusing that anyone can be 'outraged' by anything they read on this forum! Nothing surprises me!

Really? So if I am the Admin where is the "thank you" from you personally and from Bayrak for allowing you to post your official propaganda in the forum all these years?

Hello,iceman...But,I've had dealings with Admin before and I always found him/her to be very sensible and helpful...While Piratis is a blindly irrational, pigheaded propaganda machine...If he is Admin the more reason for Piratis to resign as moderator...Otherwise he will be irreperably damaging his forum's standing... :? :?

Never mind Piratis the filthy disgusting vile, sewer like language comes from none other than the 3 musketeers, Bir, Mr.... and Yfred.

You just can't beat them at that, you only have to look at the number of time MR.... uses the C word and the crap that Bir comes out with, and they have the cheek to accuse Piratis of bad language against another member, give me a F break will ya!

Piratis rarely uses any such language and as much as I do respect TD, just recently he was provocing Piratis and putting him down, with the back support of Bir anf MR......

Its no wonder he reacted the way he did. If TD is childish enough to withdraw on a retaliatory comment, then its his loss, we won't be shedding any tears. If you want to attack Piratis do it for his views, but, hey, you can't can you, because hes got you everytime. Then you do what the Turks do best, bully, attack and try to force people out.

So what if he is admin, moderator or anyone else, he is entilte to say his piece just as much as anyone else, who are you MF to tell him what he can and can't do.

I also noticed just recently, that TD postings were changing in direction, where he used to be middle of the road he is now leaning towards the Turks, he should expect comments to counter his own. He is no angel.

Now, stop playing silly beggers and let the forum continue the way it has, people come and go and I have no time for those that want to make dramatic exits.

Piratis, you did nothing wrong, you defended yourself against attack and this is something the Turks can't stand. Keep giving it to them and don't let this worry you. You have nothing to apologise for.

You also have to remember that TD is neither GC nor TC, he doesn't feel the comments as we do so his reaction will be somewhat different, its understandable.

And btw Bir, lord and master and protector of all TCs, i didn't see you defending KiKs when his family (wife fucking) were being 'discussed', that makes you a hypocrite, and you are using the TD excuse to get at Piratis, well guess what, he has seen your game mate, it has backfired, as I said he is more of a man than you'll ever be.

Way to go Pirati.

Maybe I am a split personality like you are? Because there have been two very different Birs posting on this forum. One with whom I agreed with, and one with whom Viewpoint agrees with.

Some thoughts on what I read,
1. Natural course of all participants is to expect to receive abuse given the emotions surrounding the topic
2. Comments about a participant given views expressed should not be a surprise as often the views may be contrary to their beliefs
3. Piratis and Tim are both valuable contributors, many people may not like their comments, but they do tend to add some facts rather than just slander
4. Derogatory comments about people's families - personally a no no. CF is certainly not a good example of civilised debate, but in this context it does take it to a base level.
5. If offense has been caused, perhaps a way around it is to apologise for the comment given its super low blow implication, rephrase the comment and move on.
6. Act like a "good" politician "you can say anything about me but leave my family out of it"
7. Some people won't care (assumption) but those that do and express that it matters to them should be considered.
