Limassol is the least Cypriot city/town of all ... don't you think?
No!
Sometimes you have to actually do something in the name of progress and people need economic activity.
In my opinion, there is a lot more that can be done. Cyprus is ideal for Theme Parks and family orientated entertainment and tourism. It should have been made into something similar to Abu Dhabi and Dubai in my opinion.
The only problem I see are the Russians. I am sure some are good, but I just can't stand them. Has anyone asked themselves how a few managed to get so rich when only 20 years ago they were all living in Commy Style Flats?
My wife can tell you that....many ( and many of them ex KGB) robbed the state and then they started robbing each other.... .... the more ruthless ones murdered anyone who stood in their way and eg refused to hand over their hotel business. My late father in law who as a deputy minister under both Gorbachov and Yeltsin had a number of opportunities to mis-appropriate land and capital but that meant cooperation with some very bad people and he had morals and no desire to cooperate with them as he suspected he would end up dead of lead poisoning... others genuinely did it by their own efforts... I am told that Cyprus has been deemed neutral territory and that is why there are lots of wives and girlfriends and families down here as they are not at risk as being targets in turf wars masquerading as business deals...

The Nicosia Limassol rivalry might produce some stunning results.
