Johnny Rockets Northern Cyprus Opened !

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

It's a Burger Joint! Nothing out of the ordinary!

I posted when I read this was opening in the North, to make the point that the embargo did not seem to matter. And linked to their website where they state the places they cannot operate 'due to embargoes' there. I just wondered why the embargoes on the North didn't seem to matter.

Someone has pulled the wool over the Johnny Rocket Corporation with this one, since the location they have on their site, just says Cyprus and not "North Cyprus" as Halil's invitation states. The official site has a map of Cyprus with all the towns having Greek and Turkish names all over it, without any reference to the division or occupation of the north. I expect once an official complaint is lodged to the Johnny Rocket Corporation by the RoC (if they would even care to bother to do so), they will pull the franchise licence from whom ever has it.!

Halil better get all his hamburgers while he can.!

When I read the announcement on their site, they stated it would be in 'Magusa' and did give the address. Salamis St? As far as I can recall. Can't be bothered to look it up right now.

I believe I posted about it bringing it to Malapapas' attention as he seems to have a special interest in companies breaking the embargo. I assumed he would have complained to them in the strongest terms.

EU/US extradition agreements may find the “Johnny Rockets” board of directors taking an early summer vacation in Cyprus (courts)…

Johnny Rockets is a very cheap imitation of the original Mel's Drive-in Diner from the 50's which was featured in the movie "American Graffiti".
