He's hit the nail on the head, the problem for Cyprus is that he is ,in effect, arguing that Turkey should be admitted to the EU so that the need for Greece to borrow money to defend itself is diminished. Will this mean that the EU puts pressure on the ROC to settle with Turkey on unfavourable terms?

Did you notice that the only time he raised a laugh was when he mention initiative for Turkey to withdraw their troops from Cyprus?

But he got applause for his last idea. Guarantee the territorial integrity of Greece and let Greece disarm.

Let me get this straight: Greece must trust the people who, at a time of grave financial crisis, borrow at 1.5 per cent and lend it at 6 per cent, to guarantee its territorial integrity!!!!

Not likely!
