Because -
1. 40% is a windswept ,cold, wet shithole

3. The Brits own another 25% and like catch salmon , drink a fine malt and shoot deer... plus if we are lucky the odd native

Well, Greenland is 2,166,086 km2 with approx 57,000 inhabitants who occupy about 0.0001% of the land.
Compare to this, the Scots at 10% might feel a bit better... just joking of course.
