Racism is based on a belief that different groups exist by virtue of different genetics. I have been the only advocate here of the 'ONE Human Race' hypothesis. Individuals being genetically more different to each other than populations. Even between Chimps and Humans there is very little difference at the genetic level. But no one would argue we display vastly different behavioural traits (mostly). So, it is behaviour which is paramount in distinguishing between individuals or, collectively, groups supporting common interests.
What I (and from observation, Piratis also) do distinguish between are behaviours (memes, if you wish). There are collective groups of people who contentedly benefit from selling stolen goods. Then there are those who do their best to avoid such poor conduct. I happen to prefer the latter collective group.
Rather than admitting this bad behavior needs changing (hence incriminating themselves further), aggrieved individuals accuse others of being "racists" hoping to fool everyone by distracting their attention away from the bad behaviour.
